First; fill up on air. Most gas stations have air pumps. This should be fairly obvious but one can never tell with this kid.

You've owned your car for almost a year now, yes? If you have never gotten an alignment on the car do it regardless of if you change tires and every 6,000 miles or so after that (or every other oil change if you actually follow the service manual oil change interval).

I would follow what some people have already recommended regarding the topic. Get a separate set of rims specifically for winter use. Stock base wheels often go for $600 or less. If you're REALLY hard up for cash, they hold value pretty well and can usually be sold for as much as you bought them for unless you do something INCREDIBLY stupid like put a crack in them. Don't do that.

Please retrace your path of logic on this topic. How you went from one tire being under inflated to needing to change all four makes little to no sense to anyone involved. Get a proper tire tread gauge and measure your center tread depth. If your sidewall is worn more it's an alignment issue, but as long as you get it corrected and have tread left on the tire, there's no reason you can't continue using them.

It's so nice to see your sincere act of kindness to Minsu today. This kindness keeps me here as
well on the 370Z forum.................

Dude, that's from a different thread. This cross-contamination must stop. :tiphat:

Lol I had a random act of kindness, I went to the gas station thinking it was free air But nope, I was trying my best to all for four free quarters, but nothing, random guy is like let me help you and gave me.four quarters, bless his soul. So right now psi is at 37 on all four tires let see if it holds

Whoa!!!

You need to replace all 4 wheels, TPMS and tires immediately. You caught it just in time and I am grateful you were paying attention.

JARblue 08-05-2014 12:39 PM

Nicely done. That was a lot cheaper than 4 tires, too

When I used to rely on gas stations for air, I would always ask first. In my experience, most places that charge for air will at least turn it on free if you purchase gas. Some will turn it on free if you just ask inside.

after Reading this thread I believe I have brain damage now.

It's Sunny D :tiphat:

But that was 10+ years ago when I used to abuse my vehicles (not performance vehicles, mind you) because I didn't know better. Now I don't put Sunny D in my tires

6spd 08-05-2014 01:26 PM

Tires inflated with Sunny D make a nice squish sound when going over speed bumps.

jpkirk 08-05-2014 01:33 PM

Should probably just use water. Much more healthy.

6spd 08-05-2014 01:42 PM

Hmmmmm.... (thinks about filling a cars tires with water, might be interesting)

carlitos_370z 08-05-2014 01:48 PM

:wtf:

Water would give a bit of an increase in unsprung mass. The question is how to get the air bubble out so that balance is not compromised

jpkirk 08-05-2014 02:31 PM

Then again, since water is generally not compressible, ride might be impacted as well. So the air bubble would be useful. Need to have a dynamic movable balance weight that would monitor the position of the air bubble to offset the mass distribution.
