beep beep beep from dash area

Its occured a few times, after I place car in Park and switch it off, as soon as I open the driver side door the above occurs a repetetive beeping. I think there was an image of a key on the display odo area.

It is my understanding that the system is saying that my key is out of range? Not sure I understand it to be honest :nutswinger:

I looked at "chime" in the handbook that Trips sent out.

AUDIBLE REMINDERS
Key reminder chime
A chime will sound if the driver side door is opened while the ignition switch is pushed to the ACC position or pushed to the OFF or LOCK position with the Intelligent Key left in the Intelligent Key port. Make sure the ignition switch is pushed to the OFF position, and take the Intelligent Key with you when leaving the vehicle.

Light reminder chime
A chime will sound when the driver side door is opened with the light switch in the or position and the ignition switch in the ACC, OFF or LOCK position. Turn the light switch off when you leave the vehicle.

Parking brake reminder chime
A chime will sound if the vehicle speed is above 4 MPH (7 km/h) with the parking brake applied. Stop the vehicle and release the parking brake.

Yes that is correct Limeybastard. However it should only be doing that if your Z is running and u have the key in your pocket walking away from the car.

Thanks for all above responses. I had the key in my pocket, dont use auto headlights and have never put the key in the fobgina / port slot. I dunno, not a biggie was just curious why the car is bitching at me a few times.

Does it to me as well. Have not researched it yet.

Make sure that the parking brake is on and that you are truly in Park.

My wife's Altima (with a fob) has done that for years. It is simply baffling at times. We just make sure the lights aren't left on, and that one of us hasn't left the other fob inside the car.

She is usually more OCD than I am about such things, but she has simply chosen to ignore that. But in the land of OCD:

If I open the drivers door before turning off the car I get beeps.
