Almost traded..

I have a black base 2014, 370z with 41k miles. Some months ago, I had posted a trade offer from a local dealer, my car for a similar, white or black, base 2014 with a difference of $9000. I followed the advice here, that the trade was dumb because there were not enough differences and I was paying $9000 for the privilege of driving a car with lower mileage.

Yesterday, I stopped at an Auto nation while driving through Tennessee and they had a 40th anniversary 2010 with 26k miles and it looked tempting enough. It had the red and black interior, the sports package and touring model combination, the alloy wheels matched the car color. Again, the offer was for $9000 plus my car. I could have got it down to about $8k. They had the car for $28k, were offering me $17500 for my car.

You could have titled this thread "Almost stupid"..

Glad to see you came to your senses :)

2014 and 41K, damn, and I thought I drove a lot! You can buy all of the parts to build out most of what the sport and touring packages offer and probably come in under the 9K, especially if you buy used on the forum. Plus, you can choose to go with OEM parts or aftermarket. SRM is the only thing that you won't be able to get. Supposedly, it can be swapped in, but at great difficulty and expense, not worth it.

Oops! Sorry. I have a 2010 with 41k, almost traded for a 2014 but talked out of it on the forum as the $9000 diff was not worth it for the same car. Then I saw another 2010 but 40th edition and the difference they are asking is about the same.

Sorry!

Thank you for posting this. Not so long ago a Nissan dealership offered me $20,xxx for my 40th Ann with almost 30k miles. I am glad I said no.
