The new Vettes have the auto as well. I don't think stick will ever leave the market but I do think overtime it will be less and less and sadly I am ok with this. Considering most people can't get off their cell phones when driving, I think it's only reasonable for the cars to be driving themselves for the most part. Manual & Texting just don't mix for most of the average American.

Yeah nor does putting on makeup and driving too. I saw that a lot while living in SoCal last year. The thing about driving stick is it forces the driver to actually DRIVE and pay attention to what's going on around them. It's a pity how people forget the importance of driving and the endangerment they pose to everyone around them when they allow their minds to wander into doing something way less important and life threatening while operating a dangerous machine known as the automobile.

NoLaKrewe 07-09-2014 11:39 PM

Hey, I agree 100%. The sad thing is, the truth. People seem to rather play around with phones or makeup while driving instead of paying attention to the road. I agree that sticks force people to drive which is why I need to buy my wife a stick lol.

I am glad another Z34 year is being produced. The new sport tech gives the connectivity I have on my Nav unit without going the extra mile and buying the stock expensive unit.

To the folks who bought 2013 and 2014 Z's worried about the Z35 coming the next year, see how over thinking can lead to mental misery. You have a wonderful car, and I hope no worries.

i tried that long time ago. my wife is not a car person. i ended up selling a brand new car before it even reached its first oil change.

Walking out in the parking lot I noticed a granma car that under the lights had a lot of orange metallic very similar to magma red. I tried to get a pic but granma car didn't really show its true color. I hadn't noticed the similarities until Kenchan said that and I see it a lot more now, the jerk :icon17:

I never heard of granma red until I read this thread. However, interestingly I did realize that my magma red is almost same color as my 70+ year old neighbors Sonata . So I do see a slight sick connection .

I must confess since owning an auto I do find work for my idle right hand.

To be able to shift by using a third pedal it's just so much fun and rewarding since driving stick does require skill. Plus you can sit without your feet on a pedal rather than pressing on the brake the whole time.

I bet the next manual Z won't be around for a long time, look at what Porsche did, isn't the caveman only available in Auto now?

 always go to be one hater.

It happens to the best of us unfortunately. I feel bad for motorcyclists these days. In the 80s and 90s they had drugs and alcohol to worry about distracting drivers. In the year 2014 their is unlimited distractions in any given car.

njobe89 07-10-2014 02:09 PM

im typing this while driving, eating, reading a book, drinking some "smart" water, and doing all this while missing one foot and arm.

That's why I quit riding motorcycles after 12 years. Too many close calls from distracted drivers on their phones and playing with their navigation systems.
On the Brightside all of that is why im in a Z today

The good news is you are in a Z. I can't wait to finally get mine!

I respect motor cycle drivers and feel for them as most people don't respect them. And as I states before now days their is to many distractions on the road. I drive a tank basically and I still don't feel safe on the road at times.

I'm not hating just pointing out why it's not always a good thing to have an automatic tranny sports car.

Fully aware the auto tranny will somewhat blunt the driving experience on this car. However I have become somewhat fat and lazy since coming to Emrica back in 2007, the auto suits me just fine, just wish it had more cup holders.:roflpuke2::roflpuke2:

Apparently it's orange... I wanted to deny it, but even the repair report, from the Nissan dealer, says it's orange. More people and documents have said my car is orange, than red, grandmas or not.

What kind of BT? Hands-free phone BT is on all models now. BT streaming will likely still need the Tech or Sport Tech. That said, it looks like the base models are getting a "New base audio head unit (370Z, 370Z Sport)." I would be interested in what that means and if BT streaming is included. I probably would have gone with a base sport given these options. However, since my absolute musts were the SRM and BT hands-free, it was Touring Sport for me.

My Z rocks and I am a happy camper since I got to spend this spring/summer/fall :driving: my dream car.

NoLaKrewe 07-30-2014 07:33 AM

I wonder when nissan will update their website

Yup, it does kinda hurt, until I realize all the fun I have had with the car so far. Not gonna give that up. It's like all tech. Next year's model always has something new and improved. It's how they suck us in ... you know ... planned obsolescence to keep the cash stream flowing.

It took nissan until the model year 2015 to implement BT in base audio? HAHAHA:roflpuke2:

For the sake of safety this should have been done standard from the intitial get go.
