I sure hope so. I had put over 300k on my '85 300ZX when I let it go. And the engine was still fine. If the electronic "scoreboard" hadn't crapped out, I would have put quite a few more miles on it.

The most important key to keeping our engine in top running condition is to make sure that you are on top of your maintenance, most especially your fluids....By the looks of it, you're on top of it so you shouldn't have anything to worry about.....

I don't know, dual clutch with flappy paddles would be nice.

That calls to mind somthing another said ...

Because.... race car!

(here I would normally use the driving emoticon. We need one with flappy paddles)

Laid back on the streets, with a very occasional moment where I'll push it. As an example... Got 33k miles out of my stock bridgestones. On the track... Different story :)

I'm still in the break-in period of my Z but I still squeeze in some fun while staying under 4-4.5k. I can not wait until she's past 1200 miles.

I had the same feeling. Pulled over, snapped this pic and then did a 1st/2nd pull to 7K. Eye watering fun the first time. Had to tone it down after that. Havn't had a car with this much power since my dad's 66 El Camino (375hp 396 w/4sp).

Sure, a proper DCT would be nice, but the current iteration of the auto in the Z is pathetic. My old '13 Z auto damn near blew itself at Homestead Miami. Pulled into the pits and a Nismo engineer told me they werent designed for hard use in the slightest, such a shame.

Sigh...800 more miles on break in...THEN I'll be driving a little more...spirited, if you will!

Yes, the wise words of kenchan! If you want to want a sports car to drive it like a grandma, buy a corvette lol.

I usually drive mine pretty aggressive. Not redline every shift but she gets worked pretty well.

So what happened to the trans? I spent last weekend at Sebring with mine and it did great. We tuned the pressures for the Stillen Supercharger and it hasn't given me any trouble. Before the tune the shifts were slow and hard but thats all gone now that it's tuned.

I never go over 17 mph. Most crashes occur at greater than 17 mph, so it's the safe thing to do.
