You should see the specs for the new Boxster and Cayman....especially with PDK and I'm not even talking about the S models.

Let's face it the Nismo is just a big fail. I'm convinced the fastest Z is a base auto. We'll never see those results though bc everyone tests the loaded versions.

I mean, for what its worth, people really have to consider price in the equation of what your getting. So, were, doing pretty good as a sports car valued at 38ish, competing against cars up to double our price. The outcome wasnt great but we still get a solid platform to work with for much less. When you include mods and such we really have the ability to shine over all these cars...especially with the inclusion of a supercharger like the GTM unit..

Except full throttle decibels! :ugh2:

It does says in the article that they cant explain why the NISMO has less grip than the standard model. But theres one explanation; the tires in the NISMO suck

I would have to say that's a factor.

The factory RE050As on the non-NISMO are very good tires.

Bad tires (for example, harder rubber compound) would expain almost every deficit on the NISMO. Slighly lower acceleration due to bad hookup at launch but good trap speeds, poor skidpad and slalom numbers, etc. If that turns out to be the case, Nissan really dropped the ball and damaged the car's rep over a small and easy to fix issue. :(

Have we seen any baseline NISMO dyno numbers yet? I can't recall, but it will show if that extra 18 HP on paper amounts to anything.

I would love Nav in my nismo. Anyone ELSE?

Let's be honest. Best Motoring races are not the way to compare cars. There is a HUGE driver element in these supposed head-to-heads. In the first 5 seconds of the race you see the Nismo driver sitting on the rev limiter. Pretty sure that's not the fastest way to get around the track. Also, I can't help but feel there is a staged element to the races. Every car gets a little face time in front, and then a Cayman wins. It's how almost every one of these BM videos go.

You would not be saying this if the NISMO won...plain and simple.

Can you think of a better way to compare a handful of factory-spec cars on a track?

For the record, I hate the Nismo. You can find my other posts that support that fact.

Can I think of a better test...of course. One driver, one car at a time, same track. Compare the final times. Hell, have each driver test each car one at a time on the same track, and compare the final lap times.
