My favorite generations of Zs. I hope to have a 240z one day alongside my 370

I spent the day doing paint correction on the Z. NEVER AGAIN!

Wash:

B pillar before:

B pillar after:

Hood during (can see how bad it was. The rest of the car was this bad. Thanks previous owner)

Roof after:

Hood/car after (11 hours later):

And to whoever in a black 370 stopped by while I was doing this, you should have walked up! Sorry I didn't see you. I was in the zone haha and I was told "someone with your car only in black stopped outside but drove away"

Now time to pass out. I'm dead

mishuko 03-28-2016 08:21 AM

Wow what happened to your car? :s

Damn... I applaud your efforts! Looks great but WTF with the previous owner?!?

mishuko 03-28-2016 10:31 AM

the pillars are easier to buff out.. but that hood damage... you did some good work there!

Thanks! I have no idea. I bought it from a dealership out of town and never got to see it in person. Had I saw it and saw the condition of the paint, I would have had them detail it because I told them not to. Oh well no big problem.

Thanks! Yeah for my first time trying this I feel like it came out pretty good.

mishuko 03-28-2016 11:56 AM

imho i wouldn't let the dealer do that work. do it yourself or take it to a detailing shop.

BUT looks like you did yourself a good job. pat yourself on the back and get a nice cold one :)

update on my car: the bleeder screw was the issue. (third time is a charm). I told the dealer to put their regular dot4 in for now because I don't want to leak anymore expensive fluids... I'll get that changed EOY back to rbf 600 or something better.

confirming for Friday my tune... need to remember to get the base run and tuned dyno sheets.

Don't forget the traction arms and mid links. No point doing part of the rear suspension, do it all and be done. :)

Oh and the differential bushing....:ugh2:
