I can't stand rap with too many 4-letter words, n-this, n-that, etc. I'm not a PC guy. But I think rap today is a little over the top with all the vulgarities. I used to like rap a lot, until high school. But when I hit my early 20s I kinda phased out of it. But I do like some rap/hip hop from time to time. Rap in top 40 music is aight, but most of it is garbage. But rap today is too commercialized versus the 90s and prior. Rap is the new rock. Back in the 80s everyone used to think rock was the bane of youth culture e.g. suicide themes, devil worshipping, etc. Now it's gangsta rap that people blame for kids acting violent with "gats in they waist."

"I'm pop pop pop any m'fcka that wanna throw up they 'hood....B's be jockin me, cuz I'm playa fo' life, papa chasin ain't no thang, cuz bills come in 100s....my whip is a Bentley...got mo' chedda than Forbes could count...n-this, n-that..."<--Yeah, this kinda rap is childish babble.

that's true rap isn't what it used to be, but there's a couple artists still good out there. it is funny that everyone thinks they're a rapper now and that they'll make it big... uhh no

That's why it's so difficult to make it in the music industry, whether it be rap, pop, rock, etc. There are too many artists out there competing for your fanship. It's an all or nothing dynamic. You're either rich and famous, or you're a struggling artist living like a college student who will sooner or later fizzle out of the industry. It's no different than other entertainment venues such as acting, modeling, and so forth. And many rappers, although you see mansions and Bentleys and 1/2 nekked womens in they videos...I hear it's usually rented props, or they're property of rappers that actually made it.

"Geeyeah, fo sho. I'mma hit up dem n's in my hood. Flossin' my whip a 2014 Phantom that is, if n's trip, i'mma pull the Glock from my waist and let it pop pop pop!...Papa chasin' my game, it ain't stayed the same. My hood ain't stayed the same since I be hustlin' wat's a n gotta do?!..." <---trite childish babble. And the sad thing is, kids actually like this garbage.

that's very true... even in videos of rappers that made it they rent cars to put in the video. money can buy you things but it can never buy you respect.

kids just see cars and hot girls and want that so they go with it
