I recently sold mine after 2 years of ownership. It was an OK car. The electronics are now a generation behind everyone. It was never as fast or nimble as I wanted it to be. I owned a 2009 G37 previously and I would have rather kept that car. Nissan is dropping the ball on this and the G37/Q60 which need a refresh immediately.

I love my Z its tons of fun to drive when the road bends. It turns way more heads than any m3 or m5 or even corvette since they are so cliche and so many in my area. The only thing is the car needs to have more power overall to go with its looks and handling imho. Ive got mine up to over 300 whp but it sure can use 150-250 more:) Damn you forced induction!

love mine.
Went with 20'' wheels/tires.. now @ around 80mph the steering wheel starts to vibrate more than usual... going to put swift springs on it, see what that does.. otherwise when I get spare time, take it to my shop and make sure the tires are "balanced". |
I just got rid of my Z for a 2015 STi. I bought the Z brand new in 2013, while trading in my 2010 wrx. I expected the Z to blow my wrx out of the water, but it didn't. the acceleration felt sluggish compared to my wrx, and it didn't really handle better than the wrx. There is no doubt that the Z is gorgeous and turns alot of heads, but it's just not for me. The blind spots are terrible, the stereo isn't great, it was terrible in the rain, and it scrapes everywhere (Sport Package spoiler). The Z also has a sporty suspension, but it's actually very nice for daily driving. The Z's interior is nicer than most sports cars in its price range, and feels very enclosed. Don't get me wrong, the Z is nice car, it's just not the performance machine I expected.

The paint on my Z is no worse than the paint on my son's Tacoma or my wife's CR-V. I've yet to read a forum where people are happy about their car's paint. I feel your pain as I've been following the threads detailing your issues. I guess I've just been lucky. |
Ive been a BMW fanatic wanted to buy a Z4 in fact i was about to buy a used Z4M but by shear accident went to stop by a Nissan dealershit because I had to pee....which eventually was asked to test drive the Z.
To cut the story short I ended up buying a brand new Z for the price of a used Z4M! 2 weeks of ownership changed my exhaust, springs, intakes, crank pulley then went to ZdayZ. Boy I tell you its like a honeymoon sex all day at the tail of the dragon! Never driven a car the way the Z handles the curve it was like a roller coaster on rails. Yes it may be sluggish or not as fast at the drag strip. But believe me the Z will round around in every angles most of the muscle cars at the track. The Z is the only car that makes me drive for no reason at all....just to enjoy the very essence of driving! Nuf said... |

Btw as far as I do understand about this thread it ask your honest opinion about your satisfaction of owning the the Z not about your dis-satisf**ksion with the Z!
No particular car as far as I know is perfect its always a matter of personal taste some people are meant for the scoobies, the vets and the tangs. Same as other people have small and big bananas. Its a matter of how you use it and hold it for the long haul! But for the price of the Z its the only sports car in 2009 with synchro rev, aluminum doors, hood and hatch. While most latest model high end sports car are only using the rev matching technology only now and charge you 2x as much. With the price of the Z plus all the fun staff it offers i think it a bargain just like the GTR's price in a super car category! |
Totally Honest Opinion of Your Satisfaction With Your 370
Other than the rattled interior, rattled pipes and the clutch noise, MY 370z is a really great car to own.

STi's are nice cars and perform very well & I like them. However, they just don't have the wow factor like the z's do when it comes to styling. Z's attract a lot of chicks' attention :) while STi's attract a lot of dudes :p

Coming from a 13 wrx, and having driven a few 2015 sti's, I would pick the Z. First of all a stripped STi is 36k and change, I got my Z with sports package for 31k flat. Right there u save 5k. Exterior I think the Z wins, but that is personal opinion, that wing on the sti looks juvenile. Paint quality, probably poor on both, but go to NASIOC and read the complaints... Oh boy. Interior, Z quality is superior, way less rattles, better stereo (but really, any car sounds better than the base wrx/sti, better materials, although the sti is way better now than previous generations. Th wrx did not even have powered seats in the past, even now, only the drivers side can be powered.
Wrx is fun to drive though, turbo makes it feel fast, sounds great with spt exhaust, and is practical. I guess u should test drive as many as u can, but having owned 3 z's, I always come back to nissan. The z is a great car, it will always put a smile on your face when you drive it. |
back in 2009 i was able to get the dealer to offer 31.5K for a new STi hatch with some options... but the car was just not for me.
