Hello there,

I am brand new to this site, and I have been stalking it for a while before signing up. I currently own a 2009 CTS AWD and while I enjoy the car, there are a lot of issues I have with it. Two years ago I owned a 2004 daytona blue 350z, and I absolutely loved it. I am looking at possibly getting back into Nissan sometime this summer, or maybe the fall. I am looking at a 2009/10 6 speed Touring package model.

I have a few questions for all of you long time 370 owners. (I apologize in advance if these all have been asked a ton of times before, I just wanted to ask all of my questions in one post so I could read them all together)

1. General MPG? City/Highway? I used to own an Audi S4 so MPG isn't a big deal for me, I am just curious
2. Any common issues with buying used 370z? Things to look out for? I am looking at a few under 30,000 miles
3. Touring Bose sound quality? I am not an extreme audio fanatic, but I am hoping the bose sounds good. I liked the sound of it in my 04 350
4. Do you get a lot of attention with this car? I remember my 350z had people walking up to it a ton
5. Does the touring package come with xenon headlights?
6. 370z in snow?? I live in Minnesota.. I know that this car is going to be horrible in the snow.. I guess I am curious if anyone has experience with driving it in the snow?

If you can't find things using the site's search function, try one of the web search engines (eg, Google) and add "site:the370z.com" to your search string.

I live in Minnesota too. The Z gets put away in November and comes out in March. I drive a 4wd Sierra in the winter. You can put snow tires on it, but it's still a rear wheel drive sports car with really low ground clearance. It would absolutely suck in a Minnesota winter.

MPG - you'll get 18-25 depending on highway vs city and how much you put your foot in it.

Known issues - a few on the 2009. Steering lock. Clutch slave cylinder, apparently. Tire wear (you'll get 15-18,000 miles out of a $1200 set of summer performance tires). Personally, I'd be inclined not to buy a 2009. I'd have no problem with a 2010 and later.

Bose is OK. Not top quality audio, but overall, pretty good. There are some limitations in the design of the rest of the electronics of the Touring package, however. They were addressed in 2010.

Yeah, it gets a lot of attention. Strangers come up to me at gas stations, and it does tend to draw a crowd.

Plus the rear hatch spring issue (minor annoyance, easily fixed) and the oil consumption issue (which is probably not going to affect any 2009s still on the road after 5+ years).

Completely disagree, I've owned my Z since May of '09 and couldn't be happier with it. I would guess that any 2009s still on the road have been "road tested" pretty well after 5+ years. I'd just make sure to pull the steering wheel lock fuse if I bought an '09 or '10 (although I think not all '10s have the steering wheel lock)...

Agree on the Bose audio. Not sure what you're referring to on the Touring Package's "limitations". I guess I've never noticed any (unless it has something to do with Nav, which I don't have).

Yeah, sorry. I was referring to Nav. Some wonkiness there IIUC relative to proprietary iPod cables an some issue with Bluetooth device capability. I'm not impressed with my 2014 Nav package functionality. I guess I don't know if the 2009 was better or worse.

I live in Wright county and work in eden prairie.

Attention? - Yes, mostly from 17-30 year olds. Otherwise, not much..

Winter? - With the sport rubber I'd put a wager on your life. Especially with the last winter we had. Factor in a second set of rubber or a older 4x4 jeep. They run about the same price. I chose the jeep.

I have a sport package Z and I'm in Iowa.

I tossed 18" blizzaks on it and didn't have any problems at all over the winter, even on some VERY questionable days

With dedicated snow tires and rims it will drive fine in ice and snow as long as the snow doesn't exceed 5". The sport touring works especially well with the VLSD in the snow.

If you plan on driving your Z in the winter you need to ask your self how "How long do I want to keep the car?"

You can drive in the winter just fine but if you plan on keeping it 10+ years then you probably shouldn't do it.
