(Supposedly 4.6 vs. 5.3 zero to sixty times.) Also the Hyundai transmission was not very smooth and the engine was very raspy at high RPM.

I almost forgot about the manual transmission, it was AWFUL. There are economy cars with better shifters out there than the Gen coupe. I told the salesman that, he refuted it, I told him to go next door to Mazda with me... he declined. Otherwise, interior is much nicer than the Z or 370 IMO

As for koreans and over rating their horsepower numbers, I agree. Their numbers are more reflective of Dog Power. (jokes aside, the gen coupe has some serious Jam).

+1 on the heritage of the 370Z

Yeah, I mean I was merely going by what they put out on their phones etc. They seem to think Americans love the bigger numbers. Well I guess that part might be true to some extent.

I hadn't looked at the interior of the Gen Coupe since 2010 when I looked at both vehicles before buying, but based on the description OP gave I was like damn, I should check it out. While it looks nice, it doesn't seem like the superlatives used were quite warranted lol. I went to the photos expecting to be looking at an Audi S5 interior based on the description, and Hyundai just isn't quite there ;)
Looks like basically all the same creature comforts of a Touring Z, for less $. Still nice, don't get me wrong.

[OFFTOPIC]Still running on Sam's tune. :ugh2: Chuck says it's really sluggish. Once I get more things off my plate I'd plan a road trip to Houston for a tune.[/OFFTOPIC]

HAHA! Nah. Like butt dyno feeling. I notice our cars are the only ones that are noticeably more sluggish feeling as the weather gets warmer. Other cars regardless of power seems to maintain a consistent feeling. [shrugs]

Well ive only had it a week and have had the flu, havent really gotten into yet so I cant really say. However, even with 348 HP it is slower than the 370. Its a HEAVY car.

Very close. It was down to the wire for me between the Gen 3.8 coupe or the 370Z. It would be a drivers race, stock for stock.

Aftermarket, I would say the Gen is easier to mod and cheaper to mod. They have many tune options available, also the canned ones work well too.

370 stock is 0-60 4.7 and 1/4 mile 13.3 (from what I have read)
2013+ Genesis 3.8 0-60 is 4.8 and 1/4mile 13.5 (from what I have read)

*And yes the hyundai resale value was a determining factor in not buying one for me. Plus, its a Hyundai....

this was exactly the reasoning for me too and bought the 370. After ten months I got tired of it and kept thinking back to that 3.8 interior.

I like the 13 updated interior of Gen coupe but I guess it is personal preference but interior still seems cheaper than Z. Just closing the door, Z is more sturdy.

I still like them though. Plus your right that 3.8 sounds boss.

My Z is a dedicated summer car. I couldn't justify a Gen Coupe as a dedicated summer car. Similar cars, but differently leagues once you look into it.

OP check out the SOLO exhaust for the 3.8 Coupe. Sounds great. Persoanlly if I bought the Gen coupe I would do K&N drop ins (factory intake is very good, some people dyno zero gains or losses with aftermarket intakes on the 3.8) delete the secondary cats, and throw a canned tune on it. Should Scoot the same or faster than a stock 370 for about $600 in mods.

IMO, which is about as valuable as a wooden nickel, even the most optioned Z seemed a cheaper interior. The interior was the second most important for choosing this car. Keeping my budget in low 30's, I felt this car was the best fit for me. Again, IMO, a much better interior, all the tech you can want, all supple tan leather and most importantly the ride. It just so comfortable. Granted, not as fast a the Z but its still got some guts to it.

I dunno, i know my Z felt solid like you said but this thing is a tank. It definitely has that "thud" closing the door, nothing cheap feel about it.

I agree, they are in different leagues. The Z being a dedicated sports car, thru and thru. And it does it VERY well. Its why I bought the damn thing. The GC is a GT for sure. At this point in my life without breaking the bank, Im in comfort/sport mode. Maybe in a year, two, etc, Ill get back into Sport. I have a feeling Im going to be missing rowing my gears soon. lol.

I must look into this tune you speak of. Thanks!!!

Crappy photos but not too shabby, and it looks ten times nicer in person.
