Well...be glad you are ok. And I'll reiterate what everyone else said - try and total it, if not the make sure the shop is an EXPERT, consider trading it the day after you get it back unless the shop is stellar. It takes about 30 days for it to hit Carfax.

Oh - and that was not a TBone thank goodness. A tbone is direct hit from the side in the driver or passenger door. I've had that happen to me and it is always an immediate total.

Here is my 2011 G37S that got hit on the 10 freeway - and State Farm would not total it as it only has 2100 miles on it. I traded it the week I got it back.

Totaling a car isn't quite that easy to do friends. Especially if it is new. You pretty much have to flip a car or run it into a wall at 45mph+ to really achieve that damage.

Or, drive a screwdriver/crowbar into every body panel, including hatch and hood. That will do it...

I know, I've seen it happen.

Soo shítty, just make sure that there isn't any "hidden" damage

DEpointfive0 04-27-2014 10:31 AM

More than $6k if done properly!

And that's not T-bone'd lol. But I'm glad you're safe

forza370z 04-27-2014 11:35 AM

Ouch... Another nismo got damaged. I am sorry to hear that. The bodykit, taillight, fender can be fixed just like new. No big deal. But check the suspension and subframe. If subframe is wracked your car could be totaled.

Evansblue787 04-27-2014 11:54 AM

Ok well they sent me the estimate and it is 5800 in damages. The only mechanical damage is apparently rear suspension control arm is being replaced and then an airbag sensor. No where near being totaled unfortunately. I'm going to call and ask about frame damage tommorrow but there isn't anything on the estimate. If I get the car back and everything is as good as it was I won't trade it. Anything I should look for first Thing out of the shop? Thank you guys for your help. This is my 4th z I would hate to lose it over someone else's stupidity.

Or damage any of the pillars. The driver wouldn't be able to survive a roll over with a seriously damage pillar, that would HAVE to be totaled.

the hit on the quarter panel is really bad. It's right at that spot where it bends and becomes a different angle. Unless the body man is an veteran and amazing, it's not going to look the same. Suspension can easily be fixed with new parts as if it never happened but the body is just :icon14:

Evansblue787 04-28-2014 11:23 AM

Well no frame damage and they are replacing all the suspension that is damaged. All new body parts where they are damaged but insurance is trying to give me a refurbished rear bumper but I will fight them for a brand new one even if I have to wait. Even still when I get it back I may try to trade in for a 2014 nismo. Not really sure how I would go about that though since I just got my loan on this car. Thanks for all the support guys! Think I can pull a 2014 gun metal nismo with Bose package for 40,000 OTD?

with that kind of damage done on the rear suspension, I wouldn't keep the car.

Bose sucks, it's a waste of money, just get the Nismo and go aftermarket.

A good shop can repair that damage, no problem. I've been a collision Insurance Adjuster for 18 years. It's not a total loss, not even close. However, I would seek diminished value from his insurance company! You are legally entitled to recover "reasonable" loss in value this vehicle will likely encounter after repairs are completed and after the loss is reported to NICB and CARFAX. Good luck... I wouldn't lose any sleep over it, as it will be just find after a quality repair.
