Goodbye everyone!

I wanted to say goodbye to my Z friends on this forum. I very much unexpectedly came across a 2005 Corvette Coupe in excellent condition which I traded my Yellow 2009 370Z for. One test drive in the Vette was all it took for me to fall in love with it. I was offered a good deal for my Z and a good deal for the Vette and it was one I could not refuse. I loved my '09 370Z and before that, my '07 350Z, but my Yellow 370Z was special. Besides the steering lock failure that was fixed under warranty, I had no problems up to the 50k+ miles on it when I traded it in. It always ran great and as some of you know, it was my DD on my 45 mile commute to work each way. I drove it in the winter with All Season tires and had no issues even with a light dusting of snow. I can honestly say that I actually "drove it". It didn't sit my garage waiting for Spring. I enjoyed it and appreciated it and took care of it. Except for a few very tiny chip marks in the front, it was in pristine condition. Whether because it was a Z or the color yellow or a combination of the 2, to say it was a head turner is an understatement. I will miss it but am very excited about my Vette. I guess it was time for something different and its time to move on. Thank you all for all the help and assistance you provided me over the last few years and I hope I was able to help others. Take good care my friends, enjoy your Zs, and drive safe!

Have fun with the vette! :driving:

Very nice. I'm not feeling the new c7 body style and I considered a used c6 before buying the z. I'd imagine with the new c7 out you probably picked up the c6 for cheap.

Torque.

Tazicon 04-02-2014 03:41 PM

Why say good bye? I haven't owned a Z in over 6 months. I still go on the G37 site and haven't owned a G in over a year

Adios mofo!

Seriously though, stick around.

I was hoping we were going to be able to talk you into a roadster in the near future.

Enjoy the Vette! I keep looking at the '14 Stingrays...

I'd like to know how the new maintenance compares.

Great news for you and as another '09 owner, Yellow is special on the Z's.

Good luck.

Just because you got rid of the Z means you can't stay! Most of us love Vettes too!

Might be different on a base vette, but my Z06 maintenance is higher than the Z was.

John, you should stick around. I sold my Z and am getting a C7 but I plan on sticking around. Some good people on this site and to me the 370Z is a great vehicle that one never gets tired of looking at and keeping up on. Cheers.

JohnsZ 04-03-2014 11:11 AM

You guys are great....thanks! I was planning on checking in from time to time anyway so I guess I definitely will now. I'll post some pictures when I get a chance.

Ha ha...the irony of all this is that I was looking for a Roadster in the Nissan dealer's parking lot while I was waiting for an oil change and that is when I saw the Vette. Go figure!!!

Interesting you should mention the maintenance because as someone who preached to others about buying foreign for the last 40 years because of reliability issues, I finally caved and got a Chevrolet. My last American car was a Dodge Dart in 1975. I'm expecting more maintenance issues with this car especially with all the electronics but this car is worth the repairs to me. As awesome as the Z was, the Vette is breathtaking. After a month of owning it now, no issues so far and I am having a blast driving it. Gas mileage is not as good though....currently averaging about 20 mpg. Overall, I could not be happier! I just hope my Z goes to someone who appreciated it and takes care of it as much as I did.
