It took awhile but I bought a 2014 Challenger today. Should be here by Friday. Thanks for all the input.

Congratulations and farewell. Sad to see you part. Good luck on your new forum.

I don't plan on leaving The370Z any time soon. Too many good people on here.

So op what are some of the things you like about the challenger? I drove a v6 model and it felt so under powered and it handled like a bank vault on wheels. Im hoping your experience is going much better.

The best thing about it is the price. If it doesn't work out, I can always sell it and get something else. I'll have to make some suspension mods but not too worried about the "lack" of power. 305 HP should be enough for my DD.

You bought a Challenger?

You used to be one of my favorite forum members... USED TO BE.

Are you finding it a challenge to accept this move to 'murican muscle (sort of)?

Congrats on your purchase. Too bad you couldn't keep the Z but get why you did it. There must be a lot of places close by to get it serviced. Also, now you have the trunk for junk.

One of the Dodge dealers is also the Nissan dealer I bought the car (edit: the 370Z) from. But there are at two other Dodge dealers within 35 miles or so. If I can't find a Dodge service department I like, I may go back to to something from the '60s that I can work on myself. :driving:

Storage space has never been a big issue for me but it will be nice to be able to tote more than one passenger around. :)

MazdaSpeed6?

Congratulations on the Challenger purchase. I love the way they look. I have a 2014 Jeep Wrangler with the same engine and they really aren't bad at all. Tons better than the V6 in my 2010 Wrangler. I just wish they could figure out how to get better gas milage out of them. Everyone else seems to have gotten the memo other than Dodge/Jeep/Chrysler.

Say like ... a Challenger? Good ones are a little pricey. I always liked the Challenger. I liked the Javelin as well. Hope it works for you.

Delivery has been delayed until "Monday or Tuesday." :(

I get to drive the Z for another weekend. :)

I bet that must be "challenging" your patients : )

Sounds like the dealership is a little "Dodgy" : )

Shall I continue?

Unless you doing a intensive engine work the rest of the maintenance is really a no brainer. Regular maintenance like oil change, brakes can be done by yourself.

I don't see the Z having a lot of maintenance involved....

The other like maybe a 75K checkup I would take the day off if needed and take it to the dealer or a Nissan Shop....

SouthArk370Z 07-18-2014 11:30 AM

It finally came in. Interior/exterior in very good shape (as advertised). Two barely noticeable parking lot dings in the paint that should be an easy repair. Stereo sounds good but not quite as good as the Bose (and only holds one CD). Trunk is quite large. Seat is not quite as comfortable as the Touring but I may need to tweak it a bit.

It has a bigger side rear window but it's still a PITA when backing up because the rear pillar is so freaking big. :)

Handling is a little better than I was expecting - may only need to upgrade sway bars to make it acceptable. Has plenty of power for me but I can definitely tell that I've gained 1000 pounds.

All-in-all it's not the sports car that the Z is but I think it will work well for me. Especially after I upgrade the suspension a little.

I can do most of the maintenance myself but the Z is such a PITA to work on that I'd just as soon pay someone else to do it. I stuck my head under the Challenger real quick and think I have enough room to change oil/filter without putting the car on ramps/stands. If not, one of the Chrysler dealers in the area should be more than willing. :)

Yeah. I've gotten really lazy in my old age. I used to love rebuilding motors and transmissions and any other work on a car. Not so much nowadays.

Congrats South :happydance: I hope you enjoy it for a long time.
