who has the worst parking spot?

Simply put - who has the worst parking spot and/or driveway + parking spot combination?

Give a short explanation of it and post up pics if possible.

This is probably a dumb thread idea, but it hit me as funny when i thought about how terrible the Z is to see out of when you're going in reverse and again after reading a funny *** post by kannibul on another thread.

My parking spot isn't bad at all so I have nothing to post about after starting this thing, but kannibul's post got me thinking of all the pain-in-the-*** places i've had to park my precious Z.

I bet there is someone here who utterly has the parking spot from hell and has to park their pride and joy there every day.. lets see it!:happydance:

Garage FTW -

Lone Wolf 75 09-01-2009 07:05 PM

Well, no matter how far away I park in a public lot whenever I go out, it never fails that some idiot in a beat up car seems to park next to me a little too close for comfort.

At home isn't so bad, but I do have a single car garage and driveway - before I sold my other car and decided not to drive it, it was like a Polish Fire Drill getting the Z in the garage and the other outside. On nice days I just gave up and let the Z sit in my driveway.

At work, I am lucky enough to park amongst trusted coworkers and the lot is vacant enough that I can usually find a clear spot. I'm guessing that will chabge when the economy picks up and other firms start to occupy the other floors of our building.

Even tough i have to squeeze out everyday out of the car the 370z is worth it

I think i got the worst spot...if looking from the rear. To the left is my ZX6R and then the curb...to the left is another car (not shown in this picture)

And this is the same spot, just the car i traded in for the 370z

I think i win! Steep sloping concrete ramp from a busy street into a washed out gravel, sand, mud, and grass driveway. The only two places to park are in the front yard beside the road or under a pecan tree that drops pecans on your car denting it.

Manhole Explodes -- Worst Parking Spot Ever! | TMZ.com

kannibul 09-02-2009 11:55 AM

Funny thing is that my Z is garage kept.

Usually my wife parks her Civic behind my Z, so when I decide to take it out, or my motorcycle, I have to move her Civic, which in case you're wondering, why not park it behind my truck all the time - my neighbor bitches / warns me because his kids can't ride their bikes up and down the sidewalk / without risking a bump into her car.

I've also got my motorcycle in the garage, smooth garage floor = nerves getting razzled before I even back that SOB out of the garage. One slip, my head is flying into the side of my Z!

If I get home early (hard to do these days, we car pool!) and the wife isn't home (or left and is likely to be back before I am), I park/move my truck backwards to let her know to park her car on the other side and that I have the Z so I can pull in the garage w/ it.

My neighbor across the street has something like 6 vehicles, and this huge-assed boat. When he has the boat at his house (why?) there'll be two cars in the street across from my driveway, then there'll sometimes be cars parked on either side of my driveway.

First few days I had my Z, I almost got nailed because they decided to have a garage sale. Idiot wasn't watching, and there was only a single-lane worth of space to go through. I almost said f-it, and parked the Z...but hell, I just got it!

:pics: I need to see this!

I think this is an awesome thread because I waited to buy a new car until we were able to rent a place that had a garage. Our previous place had a carport where the sprinklers ruined our paint.

I've been married 16 years and my 370Z is the FIRST car that has space in the garage. Before it was home to just my tools and motorcycles.

Pushing_Tin 09-02-2009 12:53 PM

3 car garage FTW!

wolf41779 09-02-2009 10:25 PM

I have to park mine in a mall parking lot while Im at work. I normally park as close to a curb as possible without scuffing my rims. But even so, I find people will still park over the white line next to my car! Like today, with that white mini van...fml.

slongholio 09-03-2009 01:10 AM

Parking spot?

My Z will go here in April when the Mazda 3 piece of crap my wife bought comes off lease. I have until then to build a garage, and have a few dumptruck loads of gravel added to my 1/4 mile long driveway to fill in the gullies from the rain.

Ok, sorry for no pic. I tried to add it but it doesn't show up and took forever to upload to nowhere. Guess it's too hard for someone who works with computers for the last 20 years to figure out, hehe.

Wow. Thats one hell of a pic.

Hi-TecDesigns 09-03-2009 12:52 PM

If I remember correctly, the Galleria sued the plowing company claiming it was their fault. The garage was known as "the rollercoaster" because the plates had been sagging so deeply for so long a ride down an aisle resulted in some serious up and down action. Poor construction was the more likely cause, though the company that designed/built it says "no way".

vipor 11-09-2009 01:39 PM

My parking situation blows. Raised parking spaces because we're in a "flood zone" or whatever. I've never seen the water get very bad around here. I was concerned when purchasing the car, but never took the time to even see if I could get up w/o damaging me car. I actually did scratch a little of the skid plate a couple times, but now I've got it down. I do occasionally stall out getting the front half of the car up, but that's usually just me trying to keep the revs down.

Wow, you take your nismo to work, ey? Nice.

I have a dd since I need to carry my kids around. On that car (aka beater) its front lip is scratched up pretty good since its lowered on coilovers. Even parked at the pumpkin farm offroad lot. :D

My Z stays home. :p

vipor 11-09-2009 02:07 PM

Wish I had that luxury, my Nismo is my dd and I don't even have a garage :(
hopefully down the road I'll have a dd like an altima or something then keep my z and get some 240s to play with.

Smallywood 11-09-2009 07:53 PM

Wow, I am so glad I have a garage. I would be sick to my stomach parking outdoors. I am so OCD I don't even park my Z in parking lots. I drive one of my other cars if I need to go to the store or run errands. I've just had too many stupid things happen to my different cars over the years when parked in public places. Anything from shot out windows with a pellet gun, to bricks thrown at the car doors. Some people just live to mess up something nice. Very sad really... I guess thats the price you pay living in the city.

vipor 11-09-2009 08:04 PM

I've been broken into at some apts earlier, twice. Other than that though I've been lucky. 2-Way remote start alarm, tint, sun visor (makes the car very dark inside at night), and I'm very anal about where I park. I've only had a garage living at one place of many over the years and I had a very crappy car while I had it. I'm most worried about the elements, and unfortunately I have to put up with a slightly dirty car a lot of the time. I keep my detail box with me and try to take car of anything obvious or abrasive. Sucks, but it's worth it. :driving:

Do they not rent garages at your place? I hope the breakin's weren't on your Z...??? I think the wheels locks were a wise decision since you're parking outside.
