:wtf2:

at the end of the day, if you had a cute girlfriend (or a few) you won. i had a cute gf so my pos civic did fine. :D

For C I think it depends on where you went to school.
My first kiss with my gf was on my very poorly maintained posos (pos of s) 2001 Mercury

I don't think having a 370Z or even a 350Z would have benefited me back in those days. I still got *** and I was over 300LBS. Being the "nice guy" can pay off.

I had a 95 Z28 Camaro (still own) and a 00 RS Eclipse (old lady totalled while in Basic), which were both "cool" cars back then. This wasn't very long ago though. 2004-2005 time frame of my Senior year. There were two cars drove by a couple of guys that I knew, that i was envious of. One was a 90's 300zx TT and the other was a late 80's Supra.

Having an Eclipse, I was a huge DSM fan. Then I remember seeing the 350Z, I fell in love with the design and that is when my real love for Z cars had started.

I can remember seeing the commericals of the Orange 350 and Dave Chappelle even making a skit that basically featured a 350. My Dad almost even bought one, but never did.

My passion for the Z followed me through my college years and into the Navy. I purchased an 03 350Z in 2011. Fast forward to 2013 and I find myself still a huge fan of the Z car and driving a 370Z :)

Lets see I graduated in 00, so I would be in a 300zx I believe. Well that would probably make me be 6ft under. My younger self would have killed me by racing down the street and wrapping myself around a pole or a tree.

Graduated in 2000. When I was 16, my dad bought a used '90 Z32-TT auto (still owns it). I didn't know much about Nissan back then since it was all about Honda. However, the car I was learning on was an '87 200SX SE-V6 (S11 Silvia), which I didn't know much about either. We did find an immaculate '94 Z32-TT manual with very low miles, and the owner wanted $23k for it. I would've loved to own it, but I wasn't mature enough to handle and care for one. Although the owner wanted us to test drive it, neither of us knew how to drive a stick and I was still a noob at driving. I did envy the guy who had a fully kitted 300ZX ("rich" parents), and he was picking up girls at my school (he attended a different school).

Anyhow, popular imports at the time were the rare Type-R Integra, S2000, and Civic Si. There were lots of Honda fanboys, and I was a wannabe since I didn't know much about cars. Dad's Z32 changed my perception. That's when I learned of the RX-7 and Supra.

So back then? Nissan all the way baby.

It would have sucked having the Z in HS, means I would have been driving a slower car then I was...lol

kenchan 03-05-2014 01:22 PM

if 90ST had a Z back in hs, his odo would be like 15,000,000 miles by now. :ugh:

I got my Z my senior year of highschool
1. I don't think it changed me too much cause the highschool that I went to was soo small (90 students in graduating class) there was no one to impress that wasn't already :rofl2:
2. Like I said not a lot of people really cared, if anything I would have a couple kids trying to talk cars with me or give me the occasional stare down at the light with their carpooling mini van

On a side note, I was looking up pictures of some of the cars listed in this thread and came across this.

Probably a re post, but an interesting read.

yah, my next diecast will definitely be a modded S30 for sure.

genesis2012 03-05-2014 02:18 PM

Honest answer?

I would like to say that I would be humble. Honestly I would probably think I'm the coolest kid on the block lol.

JWillis72 03-05-2014 02:43 PM

If I survived totaling it being stupid it probably would have made much of a difference. I wasn't good with vehicles when I was young, I smashed my moms 325i into a wall showing it off to a cheerleader at around 70 mph in the rain when I had just turned 15 and got to ride in my first helicopter ( I don't remember that part but I still have the scars). 400+HP and me as a teenager would have been bad news!

Graduated in 91, had a hand me down 84 Toyota truck. No A/C, no power anything, lowered it and modified it as much as I could on a high school budget. It was the main mode of transportation to and from parties so it was good for me socially. Like others have said a Z would have helped in the getting laid category, if you have the nicest car or are the best athlete you're getting laid by default. When you have a bad thermostat and are cruising back from the beach with the heater on full blast and a chick in the front seat you're not getting any action.

kenchan 03-05-2014 03:04 PM

lowering on a high school budget... you mean like hacksawing the spring shorter? :icon17:
