2. yep! this flywheel is a heavy sob. a bunch of people have gone lightweight, and they will have to chime in here.

3. can't comment much on LSD swapping. don't think its real common. same with final drive swapping, although i know there are members on here with both done.

4. you can expect 325whp+ with full bolt ons pretty reasonably. i made 326whp without headers (just test pipes). If you go with some nice long tube headers, intake, exhaust, and tune, you should expect somewhere around 325-335whp. (which is about 370-375 crank hp). some members are hovering north of 335, but its not totally common.

5. not sure on this one at all

Just make sure before u track, to get an oil cooler, as u stated. also, a set of track pads and higher temp fluid are a MUST for long track days on this car. other than that, its good to go.

You will love the refinement of this car compared to the 350z. there is really no comparison on interior quality.

P.s. if you go boosted, u can run 500+whp alllll day on these stock motors.

Thanks for the information

It is interesting to know that the new engines can hold 500whp all day.. the VHR engine must be real tough? I never looked at boosting my DE engine because of their known weak conrods and bolts issue, I couldnt see point of having a time bomb that you cant really push hard and limited to low boost :shakes head: unless of course you rebuild the engine with stronger parts and run less compression to accommodate higher boost.

I think I should read up a bit more regarding boosting the engine but I know I will be staying NA for quite a while. :tiphat: Knowing that the engine can hold 500whp is really cool though, that probably means like what.. 10~14psi of boost on stock engine? is it really safe? :eekdance:

if you want safe, keep it stock.

It is much more nimble, and grippy than my old 350. Its faster too, especially when the tach is past 5. Slightly faster than a stock HR due lower weight and flatter performance envelop. I track mine at a Florida raceway, I have a 2013 so the oil cooler is stock, all I do is put on tires and brake fluid, pads in. Havent had any issues. Yet.

Yes, I'd say it had full bolt ons.. the DE engines dont really get much more power from bolt ons though (compared to what I see from here in 370z scene), for me the real game changer for the DE engine was the camshaft and moving the torque curve to peak at around 7000rpm. But even with all those, it is very rare to see 300whp.

And yes, definitely tuned, as it is very necessary when running different cams in the DE mainly because the variable cam timing goes out of wack and you lose power in low and mid range.

Regarding the stock oil cooler, where is it mounted on a 2013 model? I saw this nismo option oil cooler that has the cooler in front of left front wheel with ducting.. looked very neat but $$ for an oil cooler kit :ugh2: What was the max oil temp you saw at the track? :tiphat:

:iagree: I never trusted those bolt on kits because it is generally asking for trouble down the road.. but still, that is really impressive number. I wonder how how the engine will get with such power if it is already overheating NA..

my Z is an 09 and no oil cooler (factory or aftermarket). no issue on my car.

and no, we should not discuss about overheating as thats been discussed waaaay too many times.

rather we should talk about wat we had for lunch. :yum:

My '13 370Z is a slight improvement over my '08 350Z. I still think the 350Z is more aesthetically sound with a better exhaust note, but the 370Z's interior is so much better and the more agressive exterior adds character. The extra horsepower is also a plus.

Is the Z34 a better car? It sure is. Was it worth the upgrade? Probably not.

hummmm... i never liked the 350Z's shape. the 370Z took my breath away as the G35C did when i first saw them driving around on the streets.

bestmotoring was siding more on the 350Z's too. but i think they went out of business so that kinda tells you wat their videos and their opinions were worth. lol :D

I'd check out Travis' Journal for some ideas.

it has a water jacket oil cooler. essentially a water cooled sandwich plate between the engine and oil filter. get a good 25 row and call it a day. they are a pretty easy bolt on and make a HUGE difference. im talking like 30 degrees dd'ing in summer

not worried about moisture in the oil that you cant boil out during your commute?
