Um wheres my rear camera ?

I've got the sat nav and the tyre pressure monitor which means according to Nissan I should also have a rear camera as standard - only had it 4 weeks but I'm pretty sure I haven't seen it ?!

go through the nav menu, turn it on?

look out back see if you have a camera?

DEpointfive0 02-02-2014 03:41 PM

I highly doubt that, 2009 was a no, 2010 is a maybe, I think it was added in as the package later...

Go look on the back of the car to see if it's there

Does the navi screen show what's behind the car when you put it in reverse? If you have one, the camera should come on and let you see what's behind you.

victort 02-02-2014 05:52 PM

wasn't available on a 2010 model. at least not in the U.S.

CSGLEON 02-02-2014 08:30 PM

The rear view camera is a must. It makes life so much easier.

Gratters 02-03-2014 04:13 AM

OK so it appears I am cameraless , given the dreadful rear vision from the 370z can it be retro fitted ? any idea of cost ? (in UK)

ayrton88 02-03-2014 06:04 AM

I can see OK straight back, it is the rear side 3/4 view that is concerning. Does a rear camera help with that?

I used this on my 40th. Works exactly how he says it will work.

I have asked this before and have not had a solid answer.
Perhaps this time.

I have a home link mirror, with the 3 different home link buttons. Is there a back up display already in the mirror and all I have to do is add OEM camera?

"A: The following Tools are required or useful

◦Philips Screwdriver
◦A plastic trip tool is useful
◦Something to fish the cables - A piece or TV/Cable coax or CAT5 cable is perfect"

loled@ instructions. :icon17:

the following tools are required or useful or might not be needed:
-screw driver of some sort
-plastic thing
-something you use to go fishing with
-just google it.

Seems most only have good things to say about the kit from Car Kit Company.

Been debating on getting it, just think if I get it now I'll get lazy, like I was with my wifes 3 series with sensor and rear camera.

I will say, having the camera would probably save me from those embarrasing times I reverve into a spot and think I'm a foot from a wall...when infact I'm like 4 feet from the wall haha.

No. That's a different mirror you can purchase as an accessory, not standard on any model.

kenchan 02-03-2014 11:24 AM

i donno, if my car had the factory nav and there was an aftermarket kit to enable a rear camera image to show up on the factory screen, i'd go that approach... but that's just me.

i suppose if this is a leased car and you want to remove that rearview mirror with LCD to use on another car, then that could be a decent reason.

This is on my to-do list. So stupid. The option is there for the 2010 nav, just no camera. What do you know, the 2011 nav models have the camera.
