That area is high strength steel, not aluminum.

I just had the same thing happen to me and that is not a small dent. Some young chick wasn't looking when she was backing up and hit me in the same spot. It's in the body shop now but it's a total of 8500 just for that small dent. I feel your pain!!

Yeah, I agree. That's way way more than it should be. It's not cheap, but to repair a single panel like that should be closer to $2k-$3k.
