Little brother looking to purchase a 370z.
What's a good deal on a 2009 or 2010 370z with less than 30k miles? Auto, and with sport package. He had a 350z but a drift fail occurred. He likes my Challenger but he still would like to be in a Z instead. Thanks! Also is there certain things we should look for while purchasing a 370Z?

Truthfully, have him learn how to drive/handle a cheap pos car and then get into another Z in a few years.
|
Lol, he drives great but drifting is what he couldn't handle. He was going from what I can tell over 65 with traction control off. It's probably my fault since I was able to do it so when he was alone he probably wanted to see if he could also.

I wouldn't pay more than low 20's on auto /w sport. Maybe check out the cars for sale section on this sight, might see someone local to buy from. |
That's exactly what I was thinking, I've seen a red 370 for 18k with 76k miles though. Finding a low mileage one under 22k shouldn't be too difficult. Judging by your username you have a automatic correct?

I paid 24.2k on my 09 auto sport with 23k miles and could have done better
This was also in May when demand was higher and before nissan reduced the new ones by 4k |
Initially my wife and I were going to get an 09 with 34k miles for 23k, base model. That would have been worse. I ended up with an RT new for 26k cause I forgot I want kids but don't want a sedan lol. I was telling my brother that there's something about 350z's that make me uneasy. The 370z is gorgeous and with a price decrease from factory used should be cheaper. How's the daily driving on it? He's 350z was so terrible it was lowered with an aftermarket suspension. It was beyond rough, and the freaking aftermarket exhaust was like thunder. Sadly it's totaled, due to his testosterone wanting to push his car to the limit.

Three years ago, I got a 2010 w/sport for $27.5k with 1,000 miles. Came with Stillen CBE, tint, door sills, trunk carpet. Not sure what it would be today, but it's some data for you.

Nope (6spd and rev, and I came up with 7 speed), just an old name I stuck with from when I had 2003 sentra spec v 6spd, and 04 Maxima 6spd. Nothing wrong with the auto on these z's and infiniti products though, I just like to work on my right calf as well as the left. 09 is basically 5 years old and 76k is about avg at 15k yr, a little high but not out of line , if it has options and color your looking for, maybe you can get it down to $16g I don't know what age when you say for younger brother, but based on his last f up , he shouldn't spend too much coin on his next ride. |

If he wants to drift again I wouldn't recommend it though. Yes it's a good drift car but he might make another 22k mistake. Get this for daily use and a cheap 240sx to drift haha |
Lmao, he's barely 18. 16k is reasonable for that mileage and year? Well the insurance covered it all, he's going to drive it safely I would hope. The 7 speed seems pretty fun, to go through the gears with as opposed to only 5. Sport package is necessary for a vehicle like this? A base is much cheaper but would it really make a difference in the automatic.

I've seen new 2014's for 25k here but all manual, wish they had automatics for that.

Why don't you tell him to come on the forum? Then we can tear him a new one, lol
Welcome. And I wouldn't buy a used one without a power train warranty because of oil consumption issues |
i hear most 2009-2011's are now missing the steering lock fuse cause people steal them. :ugh:
|
That's why lmao. I'm his big brother, even if he's 18 I wouldn't want him scrutinized for unleashing his inner stupidness. Yeah, a warranty is for sure needed! He use to go on the 350z forum but I guess they were jackasses so he lost faith in forums.

It doesn't help, that I was the one that would always tell him to drive with traction off. I'm also a big part of the blame, just due to the fact that instead of making him go in the right direction. I persuaded him indirectly to take the wrong one. In hindsight forgetting that I've been driving for 10 years compared to 1.5 years for him.

Damn, who the hell steals fuses. If people can afford to purchase a Z or get a loan for one, why can't they afford a damn fuse??

honestly these dynamic stability control gets into my way of driving, so unless its absolutely necessary (like over an icy draw bridge) i usually have it turned off.
on my dd's as well. i hate dynamic stability control. |

Your rep power is over 20 times his post count. Pistons. It's a joke 2009-11's have a very common problem. Steering lock failure. A common forum solution was to take this fuse out. |
Lol, ahhhh that's wrong man. I believed it lol. It seemed serious lol.

Mopar guys don't play like that! Lol

Lol, we're just messing brother |
I'm glad this isn't a mustang forum, if I said anything mopar related on there I would for sure be flamed lol. They would instantly call my vehicle a fat bloated pig, with the lowest horsepower, blah, blah. This seems like an awesome forum to be a part of.

I like you here. Tell your brother to :gtfo2:
But you can stay, lol |
It's a way younger crowd on here, well compared to the Challenger forum lol. I feel like an old man and I'm under 24.

I'm almost 40, but I act like I am 12 does that count?
This forum has to be one of the best car forums out there. We don't really hate on any other cars besides the civics and the Prius-and for a lot of good reasons. The Civic forums and owners are the most retarded brain dead asswads I have ever encountered. The Prius, is well, just an all around hate-able thing. I'll throw in my 2 cents and say when shopping for a 370, get a warrantied vehicle. I have a '12 and have only had a few problems, but they would have been expensive to fix. Steering rack leaking, and valve cover I think was the other one, maybe a bushing or something as well. Anyway, the service department at the dealer I bought the car from was second to none, can't say enough good things about Connell Nissan. The car does have a bit of a high maintenance cost to keep it in good order, and it is not light on the gas bill either. I can't imagine paying for this car when I was 18. Premium fuel and synthetic oil costs, and expensive brakes/tires are something to take into consideration as well. |
@GSS138, lol. My350z.com was crazy! They bashed everything and everyone. The camaro forum is relaxed till Mopar or Ford is mentioned, Ford goes ape with Chevy and Mopar comments. Oddly enough the challenger talk forum never goes crazy. I totally understand getting a warranty, they're expensive vehicles and not cheap on gas. He goes to school, works and sells his clothing brand. He stays afloat, it motivates him at least. We live in Sacramento and it feels like every single dealership here has a terrible service department. My friend had a civic which he stated had 350 horses with an intake and exhaust lol. Prius owners drive me nuts, they're jackasses when they drive. I'm cruising in my Moby **** of a vehicle and they cut me off like I'm in a hybrid. Obviously when I romp it they'll hear me coming but most of the times they don't care and act like they have the greatest car. His 350z was averaging 15.5 mpg lol, it can't be worse than that on a 370. I hope. Does anyone know how to quote with the tapatalk app?? I feel like a chimp.

We have Mustang owners and Camaro owners on this forum and I think they are treated with respect. The only time I think you will see our members act a little childish is the "370Z vs XXX" or the "Which should I buy 370Z or Lada" threads. I am guilty of the childish behavior. People should not make a 30k investment based on other peoples opinions...go to the dang dealership and test drive them, read reviews from multiple car magazines. It's like showing up to a Chevy dealer and asking which should you get, a Camaro or a Mustang. Obviously there will be a bias. |
