What did you get on your Z that you see now is no big deal?

This is the sister thread to http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...didnt-get.html

Well now that we covered what you WISHED you had, is there anything you got on your Z that turned out to be no big deal after all? I don't mean something you can easily swap out, but is there something you paid extra bucks for, or held out for, that you see now that you could have easily done without?

Now that the C7 is out, my wife is looking to trade in the spring. We'll see but the for the money, the C7 is superior to the Z. Nissan needs to step up to the plate with the next iteration of the Z. The puny 332 HP engine just doesn't measure up these days. Hey, you asked!:p

No regrets, I just wish Navigation was offered on my 40th so I could have gotten it.

i wanted the base with only the sport package in 6MT, so that is exactly wat i got.

the added bonus was that the dealer already installed the illuminated sills and splash guards (which i didnt really need) for free. :p

one serious regret was not installing clearbra 5yrs ago. i have 2 sesame sized dings on the front bumper. i clearbra'ed her last year though. :D

everyone without the sport package, i don't even need to scold you. you kno what u did wrong.. lol

kenchan 01-03-2014 11:21 AM

i suppose you get more wheel choices if you went without sport package cause you wont have to worry about caliper clearance as much. :D

The Bose Audio Package is kind of a joke and not worth the money. I could have put an amazing system in for what they wanted for the Bose package.

The bose in my Mercedes and Porsche were much better. I guess this one can be upgraded but at what cost?

kenchan 01-03-2014 02:01 PM

you can swap head units (need 4V+ pre-outs) and speakers. that alone will be a world of difference.

Someone knows about headroom and car audio.

I like how integrated everything is with the stock Nav. Granted it is not audiophile grade, it does meet what I basically need. Getting the stock Nav system's guts upgraded to deliver a 4 volt signal and switched to pre outs is do able but at a premium. It'll take a dedicated tech and audiophile with access to quality components to get it done. Speakerworks out of Orange, Ca did quite a few of these in their heyday modifying Alpine 7909's (if my memory serves me right).
