I need a good set of winter tires, havent had any issues on clean roads lately (got my car two weeks ago), and have been driving around on stock tires too. But as soon as a little snow comes through, im grounded.

I guess the biggest concern with RWD is hitting black ice.
Im not sure if the VDC would save you on that???
I hit an oil patch in the summer and I had zero traction what so ever. VDC did not help me at all..... or did I have it off:shakes head::driving:

No diff than FWD. Ice yields zero traction no matter the drive system.

The city was totally unprepared for the event. Most were not on winter tires which didnt help a thing. If it snowed or iced in ATL when I lived there I didnt leave the house.

Not only that you can tell people who lived there have never driven on snow before. Most of the videos i have seen people where tailgating and driving way to fast on completely unsalted roads.

^^ i don't want to sound like a prick, but how stupid do you really have to be to not know what snow and ice is?????? After the first car slides without stopping, and the car behind him does the same while smashing into the first car......wouldn't that be enough to say" maybe i shouldn't drive my car right in the snow and ice:roflpuke2:

I'm sure most people there had summer tires. I never had any issues up in Upstate NY and we've got hill much bigger than those, but we were smart enough to drive with snow tires.

These tires are great! I was scared as hell during the first real storm we got here in NY (6inches) but as soon as i pulled out of my parking spot these tires put my fears to rest! I was cutting through packed snow without a issue. I cant believe how well these tires perform, by far the best mod on my z!:happydance::driving::happydance::tiphat:

I am running the same tire on 19" OEM Rays and having the same experience. What a great cold weather snow tire without giving up your ride or handling. They are much better than the Hancook Snow Bears I have ran recently, especially in the road noise and handling area.

You vastly underestimate the stupidity human beings are capable of.

One of my favorite quotes from Carlin, might not be dead on but it gets the point across: "Think of how stupid the average human being is, now realize, half the population is even dumber than that!" :icon17:

Didn't your city shutdown after a storm that Florida gets at least 3-5 times a year? ;) Our city simply isn't prepared for snow/ice. We get a bad storm once every 3 to 5 years.

Nah the Police just caused more problems honestly. I've heard many Police horror stories. At one point, they only responded to accidents of 3 or more cars. We also use sand mostly.

I would have done the same but the potholes in NY are no joke during the winter time. Some streets have craters that are unavoidable, so i decided to play it safe and get my winter tires on cheaper rims to avoid rim repair in April. I would love to see pictures if you can.:driving::tup:
