Prick backed into my NISMO with his truck

So just before I put away my car for winter I took her to a local hardware store to pick up some parts. When I pull into the parking lot I park behind this guy getting into his truck. The parking spaces are very long so I gave about a 2-3 foot gap between my front bumper and the back of his truck. When I get out of the car the guy looks at me kind of funny look while he was climbing into his cab (which I didn't think anything of) so I went into the store for like 10 minutes. When I came out this is what I saw on my front bumper.....
Which means this prick intentionally backed up and hit me before he pulled straight out an left.

they don't have cameras. i checked and he just hit and ran so its on me now

Justice97 12-31-2013 03:16 PM

That sucks.
Sometimes I will wait in my car if I see someone getting in the car next to me, just to make sure.
I have learned never to park next to a truck or SUV or anywhere near the back end of a truck or SUV.

Wolfenstein 12-31-2013 03:19 PM

Even though I'm mad about that my brother in-law cheered me up this Christmas because he got me JWT pop charger intakes.
:ughdance:

Thats sweet! Sorry about the lack of cameras and bad luck brother. Karma is a bitch tho and that guy has it coming!

Buy a touch up paint. Apply it and sand it down. Keep doing this until the chips are flush. Finally polish it and you're good to go  I'd seriously offer you a free service if you were near me

i just hope that i don't make it look worse than it already does :rofl2:

Wolfenstein 01-01-2014 01:52 PM

I just ordered a 2oz. bottle of touch-up paint for her, will be here in 3 days, i will post pics of how it looks when i am done.

jaedub, if you have any specific details/hints to get it done I would appreciate it. Like what grit sandpaper or any other info or techniques?

There is no way it will make it look worse. Just be sure to apply enough paint to cover the hole. This will take multiple paint application since you have to let it dry after each time. Finally, sand it down with 2500~3000 grit sand paper. Make sure the sand paper is lubed with water/car spray. After polishing it, the damage shouldn't be noticeable after couple feet of distance. I did plenty of these repairs on my car.

If you're still uncomfortable with the procedure, look up proper touch up paint DYI on youtube. There are some great and knowledgeable sources out there. Good luck

jaedub 01-01-2014 01:58 PM

Also, be sure you get a random orbiting polish (Won't burn through the clear coat even by the hands of a rookie). There is no way you can polish it like new by hands.

Ok, I'll look up some tutorial vids and run to the store to pick up some sandpaper. I'll take some step by step pictures and well as before an after and post them when it is done. Wish me luck :ugh2:

Sorry to hear about what happened. I have always been a believer in "what goes around, comes around". His time will come. Hope you have a good New Year.

L33T Z34 01-01-2014 08:07 PM

Ah yes! The ole balltongue kiss. Let this be a lesson to never park next to jealous, inbred rednex. Wal*MarX and hardware store parking lots are well known for this type of activity. :shakes head:

Dsevast 01-01-2014 08:12 PM

I hate to see or hear this. Sorry man. What auto store? I see you are from Cleveland so I know which store to stay away from or at least take my other car there.

Thanks for the heads up. I am actually on my way to the Harbor Freight in Eastlake right now. I am always afraid to take the Z there. It is in the same parking complex as Wal-mart so you can imagine what kind of people that attracts!

only the very best Cleveland has to offer? :ugh2:

I have had my Z hit twice actually, someone in a walmart parking hit the rear bumper with a shopping cart. I even parked waaaaaay out at the end and still people f*ck with it.

I don't hate trucks, just the hillbilly jacka$$e$ that drive them who are so jealous that they feel the need to damage someone else's property. If I CATCH someone damaging my car I probably won't call the cops.... I will just damage their face with their truck...

LMAO

Never part next to a minivan. They will find a way to hit your car with a sliding side door.

I'm pretty sure that when a minivan's doors slide open, the children inside spring out with enough force to ding a door.

The key to this approach is patience.

I hope that I could muster up enough patience to make sure that my most prized possession would look sexy again when I'm done :icon17:

yah, karma will definitely take care of the dumbarse eventually, so concentrate on fixing your nice ride. :D

I concur with the touch up paint idea. You will notice it only cause you know what happened. Other people really won't notice it unless they are looking for it. Sorry that happened to ya my friend!

Drakonis GTR 01-04-2014 02:10 PM

That is one downside to owning a nice car like a Z. People ******* with you just because you drive a nicer car then they do. Haters gonna hate. Haven't had it happen to mine yet, but every time I come out of a store, I hold my breath and take a look.

That sucks man. Best of luck to you on the touch-up.

Slam128 01-05-2014 01:09 AM

OUch  I know that feeling when someone backed into my bumper in my last car and bounced. Now I don't mind walking more and park in the boonies.

nmjaxx9 01-05-2014 04:11 PM

Thats sucks get it fixed keep movin, and most importantly dont think too much. :bowrofl:

It is amazing how much hate and envy i have to deal with on a daily for a 30,000 dollar car. I have neighbors who drive m3s, corvettes, and cars that cost
three times as much as my car, Yet their cars never get bothered. When I come out to my car in the morning i have to do a full body inspection every day!!! Some clown dinged my passenger door and the only way they can ding my door is if they double parked right next to my car!:shakes head::mad::shakes head: The jealousy factor is to high on these cars and i blame Nissan because the car is to dam sexy!

Hell yes, I'm way too paranoid with someone dinging my door

Even at work I always double park all the way in the back by myself :icon17:

Wolfenstein 06-09-2014 12:28 PM

so the touch up was a fail, turns out I am not much of a painter. I decided to go a different direction.....
