stealership BS vent session

ok i have been having a ton of problems with the usual stealership i go to, first off my seat belts wont retract unless i feed the belt into the car, i was told this is normal wear and tear and since it still locks, its safe and they wont be replacing it(even though i am still under 36k mile warranty)

next im told the hum i get in my car(ECU hum as i have read it) is normal and is on all Zs even though this started a couple months ago

then there was the experience with my mom, they literally tried feeding my mom some BS as to why her car is running so lean, i bought her a K&N drop in filter for her maxima since she is going to keep the car forever and i figured ill save her some money with a reusable filter, well her car started stalling one day so she took it in, dealer blamed the filter for making the car running so lean that her car would stall at idle, thing was her car was still running lean with their filter in it, it just wasnt as lean so they said it was ok, if i wasnt there, my mom wouldnt have a clue as to what a car running lean is and the thing that gets me is that they sell the damn K&N drop in filter in their parts department, why would they sell a product that will damage a customers car

thing is now that i need my CSC replaced again, i am hesitant about taking it to them since i have the JWT flywheel and clutch put in when my CSC was being replaced back in august, it only has about 5k miles on it and i even bought the clutch and flywheel through their parts department

idk anyone think i have any grounds to fight for to get it replaced under warranty? the part failed within 12000 miles and since i bought the flywheel and clutch through them, i was thinking about bringing up the argument as to why they sold me parts that will knowingly break my car, blah, blah, blah

should i just switch to a different stealership? or fight them tooth and nail to the ground?

idk i think i just need a vent session, anyone experience anything similar?

Is the dealer you are going to the one you bought it from?

I'd find another dealer to work with. I think some dealers just say crap because they know a lot of people have to clue as to what's really going on and they generally get away with it.

How does switching out your flywheels and clutch affect the CSC issue? I haven't read up much on that particular problem.

Read up on the Magnuson-Moss Warranty act, here's an excerpt from the Wikipedia page:

Warrantors cannot require that only branded parts be used with the product in order to retain the warranty.[7] This is commonly referred to as the "tie-in sales" provisions,[8] and is frequently mentioned in the context of third-party computer parts, such as memory and hard drives.

I'm not saying that the M-M act will save you or not in this case, I would just recommend becoming familiar with it. The warrantor would have to prove that any OEM parts you replaced with other parts are the cause of the failure...as I understand it. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Let me guess, one of the Mossy dealers...

Yep. Thing is when they see mods, they look for any reason to void warranty claims coming up with the biggest BS excuse to do it.

I understand how the Magnusson Moss warranty act works, only problem, I don't have time to take then to Court, I feel I have a good argument though, I bought my flywheel and clutch from their parts department and this isn't the first time this happened.

It is noted to accelerate wear though from users here from what I gather but that's besides the point

I've mostly disliked them on the sales side when shopping for my GT-R and later 370z. After interviewing the GT-R mechanics at the different dealers, I went with the Kearny Mesa dealer and didn't have any complaints.

I would find a new dealer...not worth your time and stress fighting them. I have had good warranty experiences with the dealer in Escondido (a bit of a drive but worth it from my experiences). Just don't go to any dealer service department fuming mad and demanding things. You will always get better results if you come in with a calm friendly attitude.

The seatbelt issue should be the easy one. The ecu hum is more subjective. Warranty work for noises is always tricky but I have not experienced the hum so it's hard for me to say. If they tell you that they all make that hum, then call their bluff and have them show you with a new z in the lot. Your CSC might be the hardest if the new pressure plate has a higher clamping force. Most dealers will classify the csc as a "wear" component. If you are under the 36k and/or have a history of failed csc's, then it shouldn't be an issue. You have a chance since they sold you and installed the parts. GL and I hope you get it sorted out.

Be glad your ecu only hums, my ecu whines and two different dealer said that it's normal since they also hear the same whining sound on the 2014 Z's on their lots.

I'll give the dealer in esco a shot if Kearney Mesa doesn't work out, a friend recommended that in see his friend there since he is very helpful and will go out of his way to get things covered under warranty, all I can say is stay away from poway mossy Nissan's service department, great place to buy a car, horrid place to get warranty work done recently(they replaced my CSC under warranty which I liked but recently I have been having problems)

Honestly I'm tempted to just work on the car myself and fix these issues but I would rather it be fixed since I'm still under warranty.

Thanks bro though for the advise. Been stressed since the Z was the DD while my eclipse is down and now they are both down.

If the dealer is trying to BS me then I will go somewhere else right away, not worth to waste time on them.
