Nismo HP numbers in stock 370?

I'm sure this has been discussed, but maybe there is better info out since the old threads.
If you wanted to take a stock/Sport 370z up to the Nismo 350hp number, what's the cheapest/best way to do it?

Pick one:
-Exhaust
-HFC/TP
-CAI

What's HFC/TP?

High Flow Cat / Test Pipe

A single bolt on breather mod should take care of that.

End thread.

Trade in for a Nismo

Or pick all three, add a tune and be more powerful than a stock Nismo.

Ok, here's a question:

If both a Nismo and regular 370Z had the same full bolt-ons and tune would they have the same power or would the Nismo be higher?

They'd be close. I'd assume any difference at that point would be small enough to be explained by dyno variance or manufacturing tolerances. Again, that's with the same tuner. All bets are off if you're just saying "a tune" and assuming we have two different tuners working on each car.

Nope, I was assuming the same tuner. I figured there wasn't much different engine wise but was curious.

People have speculated there's some slight VVEL differences between the two, but I've never seen anything concrete. It's 18 crank hp, so 15 whp or so? My money says it's mainly from the exhaust anyway.

Thanks everyone.
Sounds like it's pretty cheap and easy to make up the HP.

Chuck33079 12-17-2013 12:10 PM

Yeah, the hp difference is the last reason to buy a Nismo.
