Lease return help

So I leased a Maxima in 12 and its time to go back. Just had it inspected and they are way more anal than I thought. 400 per door ding and I had 3...they are minor at best...

The real thing that bothered me is they said theres a 400 ish dollar fee because We are not leasing another infiniti/nissan product and that its in the contract. Now I am 99% sure its not on the front of the contract, and was never discussed when I picked up the car. Perhaps the back/fine print? Never saw it if it is there...

Anyone have any insight if this is in fact a charge that they can actually take from me, seems like crap if you ask me...

Bullshít. You can get all the door sings taken out for $100-150

Fee to take it back... If it isn't on the contract, they can't do that

wait, leased cars usually have insurance to fix these dings under that coverage. most as high as 1700 or something. i think they're trying to f- with you. and yah, pdr for small dings are like $30 each (cost).

Amj2020 12-06-2013 11:12 AM

I know I can get my local dent doctor for the 400 per dings but the return charge for NOT using nissan again is what is pissing me off royally. I never read the back of the contract and have to when I get home. Its just another PITA that I could live without!

Anyone ever actually pay a fee to return the lease when not going into the same brand (especially nissan)?

kenchan 12-06-2013 11:13 AM

ive only leased two car in my lifetime (owned over 20cars) and it was a free return both times.

Never heard of it, but if it's in the contract, you're screwed!

kenchan 12-06-2013 11:18 AM

this reminds me of that f-ked up sport shop where you post a bad review, they charge you 3500. lol

Amj2020 12-06-2013 11:21 AM

Does the back of the contract count? :P

i want to leave work so bad and go look, if only it wasnt an hour away.

I think it is time to comb through the contract and see if you can find that specific "agreement".

If you can not find it have the dealer point it out to you where specifically they are referencing this.

Usually "special" add on agreements (but not mandatory) are initialed as well, so double check for that.

Edit: if you are early terminating there could be a early termination penalty.

Yes you can get a local ding guy to fix it for a fraction then return the car even if you decide to return it to another dealer.

As far as return lease fee, it's been in the Nissan & maybe other leases for about 10 years now. The only way to avoid it that I know is get another Nissan. Sorry.

nissan charges you disposition fee at the end of the term..
need to read your lease contract, it will give you all the explanation you need to know.

Amj2020 12-06-2013 02:18 PM

man this is like getting punched in the twig and berries at the end...glad I didnt re-lease a Nissan just to be pissed at the end again...

Are there any terms in buying out a car that anyone knows? I leased the Z but I was planning on just buying it soon before the lease was over. Any hidden fees associated with that people have found out about?

your pay off is what you can buy it for+ tax and title fees in your state, you can finance that amount or pay cash for it..( you can call nissan finance and get your pay off ) the reason you have to pay tax and title fees again is because the car was in nissan's name and it will be yours and uncle sam needs your help again..

You leased a Z & know nothing about it? If you're serious, some salesman made a party after you drove away.

The price of buying your car is in large letters/numbers written on your lease. 99% of the time it is written in stone. That's the price plus tax & fees.

Not much to do. Just go to a Nissan dealer & they will do all the numbers/taxes & financing.

After you add the money you spent on the lease, + all fees & taxes, then add the current price that the car will cost you +taxes & fees AFTER financing it, you'll end up with a used Z that cost you as much as a 2 year old GTR. Have a nice day & please don't blame me. Look in the mirror instead.

You're a bit wrong. HE paid the taxes when he leased but it was for ONLY the amount of time of the lease. When he buys the rest of the car, he will pay taxes AGAIN but it will be for only the current cost of the car or you can say for the rest of the car.

Good part is that the money will go to a good cause, THE GOVERNMENT!!! :) square.
