Came out from dinner with this surprise...

...there was no note either

CrownR426 12-05-2013 01:37 AM

Where did this go down?
Ask for near by building for video footage.
You might get lucky and they will be so screwed!

Elan 12-05-2013 02:19 AM

From the picture, it looks like it will buff out. I had similar looking damage coming out after work. Some people... :shakes head: Most of it buffed out and the rest was touched up by moi. Sorry that happened.

DEpointfive0 12-05-2013 02:20 AM

Awwww, damn... Sorry!!!

shadoquad 12-05-2013 02:23 AM

There's a special place in hell for people who vandalize or ding other people's cars.

zefaulter 12-05-2013 05:32 AM

Damn... That really sucks. Had this happen to me as well. It ruined the night
Get a dashcam!

Gadgetech 12-05-2013 05:50 AM

Looks like there's more than paint damage there. Some people don't care about other's property, don't have any integrity, or don't understand the passion of owning a particular car. I had a Titan a few years back that someone backed into. Luckily my wife was in the truck which the other driver realized and they hung around. We both had State Farm and it was taken care of quickly.

I had a F350 lifted and pretty well taken care of
Came out of the movies and some POS keyed the whole driver side from bumper to bumper and worst part it was all the way down to metal , man that facked up my day

Every time I take the Z out and I park somewhere I always have that thought in back of my mind

Hopefully you can get that taken care of and not cost you a arm and a leg

kenchan 12-05-2013 09:43 AM

sorry to see. :(

yah, if you arent planning on having this repaired via insurance, try a product called ScratchX2.0 and a foam pad. it should polish most of it out as elan posted. GL!

if there is dent, after you polish it out, consult a PDR tech. most dealers have a contracted mobile team come around to push out dings on used cars. they can do yours too, with appointment probably. dentwizard.com PDR can be done on metal and plastics.

Thanks for the great ideas! PDR might be my next step after a quick wax and wash.

...I already parked in the furthest spot in the parking lot to try to avoid this!

I recall a similar situation! I was leaving the movies and remembered some massive F350 cut me off but failed to notice. First time I ever keyed a vehicle but man did it feel good!

No but seriously, I get paranoid too. If you drive a nice car, you have to be a nice driver and turn the other cheek. That's how I view it. The world is filled with crazy/jealous @ss pirates. No unnecessary honking or bird waving from me!

Mt Tam I am 12-05-2013 11:04 AM

I've got the same on the front left fender. No note either.

Sad to hear OP. The same thing happened to my wife's Acura CL about 2 weeks ago, sad part is it happened at the parking garage at the office she works for, no cameras. Good part is i was able to polish it out by hand until i put a polisher on it in about a week when i give her a full detail (i'm a professional detailer):happydance:. You guessed it, no note. This has become way too common.:shakes head:

kenchan 12-05-2013 02:59 PM

i remember this dumbarse loser chick in collage saying bumpers are 'bumpers' they are meant to be bumped. :shakes head:

mults 12-05-2013 03:11 PM

  :wtf: :crying:

What is wrong with people? I had someone key my 3 week old Santa Fe in 2003 from front to back. I almost cried like a little school girl. I never quite get that picture out of my mind. Fvckers!

Same thing happened to me a few months ago, at CHURCH!!

Had the dashcam on but no usable footage since damage was on the rear passenger side.

Those wide sexy hips tend to get hit by other drivers not paying attention... I wish I could install some razors that would pop out when I park the car, that would be cool!

I got my only door ding on my previous truck while in the church parking lot. Just because they go to church doesn't mean anything...

Gadgetech 12-06-2013 05:48 PM

Hey guys, sinners go to church. Church isn't a building full of people that are always morally strong.
