Okay here is my mod plan. I want cat-backs and a better intake. That's all. Recommendations?

And if bitcoins hit $3k I'm getting a GT-R. :-)

My first mods were Takeda long tube CAI and MXP exhaust. Wasn't too expensive and gave a sound that I loved. It's not overly obnoxious driving around town casually but sounds mean as hell when you get on it. I received numerous compliments on it.

stock intakes

From my experience & seeing the results of others, I feel that the stock intakes is as good as it gets. The only change that I would make is less restricting K/N filters.

It also will give you a good feeling when you pop your hood after a good run and say, ye see, it's all stock :)

Search for "bang for the buck" and you will find my recommendations.

On a budget, you an gain upwards of 25 whp for well under a grand...

Search engine here sucks, brings me to this thread anyway. Post here your solution!

Okay...

smooth tubes + K&N panel filters: ~$200

ebay Test pipes (or, used resonated TP's if you can't tolerate the rasp: <$150

Take off Nismo Exhaust: < $550

So under to about a grand, more accurately. Add $100 to $150 if you would rather get a CAI (used).

Add some unknown amount for installation... another couple hundred maybe, although some of that can be done by oneself with few or no tools (i.e., the tubes and filters).

Although you'll see additional gains and improved response with a tune, all of those mods can be added and work well without one.

Search for evidence of gains (e.g., Proven Power Dyno thread).

^OR, used G3, $350-400, Used Stillen exhaust $600.

And if you have an extra $200-250 used FI TP's

Even without the smiley at the end, most would realize that it was a joke.

If you want to do it, do it right. Nothing wrong with waiting longer and saving to buy the best parts. That's just my opinion.
