I totally understand. It's just that I didn't want to take a chance at it failing before the service having to go through the headache of a tow.

you're better off in my opinion to just leave the fuse out. I believe revD is the version they are using to replace the old faulty models and it too has a few recorded failings on the forum last I checked. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong but I believe Nissan has stopped installing the steering lock in the new Zs anyway. I never bothered getting the lock replaced, I pulled the fuse and I will never have to worry about it, ever.

yep, if your car is working correctly just leave the fuse out.
