The 370Z top 10 most stolen sports car

Camaro Mustang are most stolen sports cars - MSN Autos

According to this article anyway

Quote:

Of all 3,780 sports cars between the 2010-2012 model years reported stolen during the three-year period, two out of five were Camaros. One in four thieves nabbed Mustangs, while the Challenger attracted one in five. Scoring much lower were the Porsche Panamera (103 stolen cars), Audi A5 and S5 (101), Corvette (69), Nissan 370Z (47), BMW 6-Series (45), Porsche 911 (24) and strangely, the Volkswagen Eos (23).
They were probably stolen for parts and then left on blocks, but still something to consider.

Time to seriously invest in a 2 way alarm system!

kenchan 10-31-2013 09:44 PM

hummmm.... interesting data indeed.

forza370z 10-31-2013 09:46 PM

I don't buy it. With the high possibility of SLU failure on our car how could the 370z be top 10 most stolen sports car?? Just saying.

andre12031948 10-31-2013 09:50 PM

I'm getting my 5th Z soon & owned over 2 dozen cars

Went to all kinds of neighborhoods & other states. In over 45 years, with all my doors always left open, I never had anybody even touch my car.

Just lucky I guess :icon14: ??????

H2O_Doc 10-31-2013 09:52 PM

Buy a 6MT, many bad guys can't drive a manual (or manuel).

or read a manual :)

brucelidat 10-31-2013 09:59 PM

since when is a panamera or eos a sports car?

mayday813 10-31-2013 10:05 PM

Out of 3,780 sports cars stolen, only 47 were 370Z's.......not a real problem in my opinion.

UNKNOWN_370 10-31-2013 10:46 PM

47,stolen Z's and paranoia sets in? Lol. :rofl2:

1325 10-31-2013 10:57 PM

Don't forget overdue rentals that are considered stolen vehicles when reported by companies, too.

Justice97 10-31-2013 10:58 PM

onzedge 11-01-2013 04:59 AM

Where did the Prius rank?

onzedge 11-01-2013 05:02 AM

Seriously, Camaro, Mustang, VW Eos, etc., are not sports cars.

While I agree with your statement, if memory serves the article was about "sporty" cars being stolen. I agree with you that the author has a broad definition of "sporty" :)

And a Garage! ;)

BTW, I'm surprise to see no Honda in that list....

Jordo! 11-02-2013 01:18 AM

Are there even more than 10 relatively affordable sports cars on the market?

No one steals Ferraris because hardly anyone owns one to steal... on the other hand, there's tons of Mustangs and Camaros on the road, so go figure.

Ummm... Perhaps no Hondas are on the list due to it being a list of "Sporty" cars. It's just a guess on my part. I give you points for your keen grasp of the English language though. Nice work. Keep it up, you make us all proud.

Honda doesnt have a sports car... They'd be in the "car the bores people to death" rankings. They'd be #2 after Toyota.

48 Z cars in a year and you guys are freaking out? Cheak the data on how many other cars are stolen. 48 is very few compared to other makes and models of cars and trucks.

Article said it was over the first 3 years. So really it is only 16 - 370's/year stolen on average :ugh2:

See and people are worried? I guess I dont care either way. Cars come and go, if one gets stolen so be it. It will just be time for the next one.

Let it be sold or stolen. If your Z is not in the best of shape, maybe you can get paid more by the insurance company than by any buyer...just park it with the key in, engine running, get it stolen and get insurance to pay for a replacement?..

geddy lee 11-06-2013 09:45 AM

Guess they don't know about the steering lock
