Gas fill up

The last two times I have filled up, this has happened. The pump shuts off when the tank is full. I pull the gas pump out and I can hear the gas gurgling as it goes down. Last for 5 to 10 seconds. Any ideas what is going on here?

I had a similar problem with a girl once.

Nice!

I just filled up tonight and I heard the same thing. I assume it is just burping like I do when I throw down 12oz of cold beer.

Oh hell yeah.....now when are those ribs gonna be ready!!!

Never really paid any attention...mine attention mostly went to the 50+ bucks I fork out each time I'm at the pump...so glad I have a civic as a beater

I think I read here that our gas tanks have two compartments and I've always assumed that it's gas flowing to the second compartment so I always let it finish and then top it off with just a little more fuel.

I'm inclined to believe something like this, the other day I was heading to track, got to gas station near track, figured 20 bucks would top it off or close. Well at 17 dollars the thing clicked. I got almost another ~gallon in the tank and ended at 20 bucks.

^^^ Same thing here. I know on the first click that she's going to take more second time around.

The Z's know not to talk when her mouth is full.

Chef kid 10-29-2013 04:47 AM

Curious. Never had a car do this.

raymondo510 10-29-2013 06:47 AM

Lately when I use the latch to hold the lever in place it never seems to stay in place. At first I thought it was the pump but its been at every pump I go to now. Any ideas? And I know its not full.

The more fill ups, the less complains. Give it time.

ElVee 10-29-2013 08:26 AM

Next time it happens, you should immediately back away and ask an attendant to come over. You don't really want to be in the flight path when the gag reflex hits. (Unless you like that kinda thing; I don't.)
