2010Z for 2013Z, would you?
If you had a 2010 370Z (say 30K miles) and in great condition, at what price would you trade it in for a brand new 370Z and some comments about your decision?
|
Thats absurd man. Other than LED and oil pan...why would you take a hit like that? So..no, no way.
|
Ya no way besides your year has the fangs and the better year rays if you have a sport. Just add an oil cooler and a rear fog light and call it a day.
|
but the op drives a 06 350Z. :icon17:
|
Why not a 2014 with the price drop. Ive considered this myself. I like the look and the improvements that have been made. Its your life, so live it. Who cares what anyone thinks to begin with. Its a car and disposable as you will surely move on again into something else or the next gen Z. Good luck no matter what you decide.

I jumped from an 09 to a 2012 but I got a real good deal on it. the paid off my 09 and gave me 5k incentives. I know the sales reps and the owner of the Nissan in my area.
If I had my 09Z I would not trade it in for the 13 I do not like the wheels and hate that they removed the fangs. So I would not do it. |
What’s up with that? You should have told the truth. If that’s the case, Hell ya trade that 5hit in.
|
wait it out for the z35.
save while you can to put aside for mods :D |
I have a 2009 370Z with 20,000 miles as of Sunday.
No way would I do this based on financial planning alone. If you had a a base model Corvette and were trading it for a ZR1 then I'd say yes. But to trade a 370Z for a newer one with 30K fewer miles seems like a path to financial mediocrity while gaining very little. |

And FYI, the fangs are still there, just not as pronounced and not body-colored. |

ofcourse if the z35 turns out to be a flop, you can still get the '14 if you wanted. |
why would one even consider that?

no idea on incentives. probably not. the 14's prices are already back to near 09 prices. :icon17: |

i wouldn't, now if they were totally new body style and more performance i would consider...

Keep your present car. Put the "trade-up money" in a Roth IRA---so you'll be able to own and drive a late model Z even when you're old and retired like me!

Guess I wanted to drive all the cars I could not afford when younger. The 2010 370z is just a week old with me. |
Oops, not 1994, 2004 RX 8
Which gave me lots of problems.
|
We came close to doing it, ours is a 2011 33k miles and the wife wanted a 2013 touring with sport package so she could have the leather, nav etc etc. In the end with all the incentives and pricing it still didnt make since. If this about next year same time I would have done it in a heart beat.
Oh and I understand the car thing, we have had 17 vehicles since we got married 12-1/2 years ago. If you can afford it then do it. |
convince your wife to wait :D

OP here's some differences. http://www.the370z.com/nissan-370z-g...fferences.html |

I had a 09 WRX at like 6% interest, some negative from a trade in and a $509 payment. Car had 36,000 miles of 330hp 360tq. I traded for 11 WRX, 2.9%, $413 payment, zero miles, new motor, new tranny, wide body kit, zero negative, and all parts converted over. Just for the 09 I paid $23,000 and traded it for $20,500 two years later plus the $1300 saved in tax savings. I 100% would trade an old car in for a new one! specially if it doesn't cost much. Let's say its only a few grand to trade...where you gonna find a brand new motor for your old car for a few grand!!?? Plus a brand new tranny, clutch, flywheel, tires, rims, new paint job, etc etc. to make an old car look new and have new things you'd spend $20,000 easy. And with the $3600 14 price drop the switch should cost zero outta pocket! Its a no brainer. |
no
|
No, I would not. Its still essentially the same car.
