whining

Anyone else have a whining noise with their Z? Is this normal on the 09's

Sounds like the ECU whine problem. There should be a sticky in the warranty recall section.

Looking for it myself. It was a problem early on the builds.

Here are a few links about it

does that start when you start the car (ECU high pitched noise), or while you are in 1 or 2nd or reverse gears (normal)?

jcole8188 09-24-2013 03:50 PM

i notice it mostly in 1st and 2nd gear. not at all when starting

kenchan 09-24-2013 03:59 PM

gear whine then probably. it's considered normal.

jcole8188 09-24-2013 04:08 PM

Thats good news then. Also though when im just idling and i let the clutch out and it makes noise and as soon as i push it in its silent. is that normal?

kenchan 09-24-2013 04:26 PM

yep, that's normal as well. as long as it's not marking a loud howling noise or constant squeaking, it's normal.

if you hear any of that, then your throw-out bearing is probably shot.

ok im pretty sure im good then. i just bought the car about a month ago so wasnt too sure. thanks for the help!
