Aggressive neg camber after spacer install!.....

hey forum,

so a few weeks ago i finally got around and installed 20 ml H&R spacers (bolt on) on the rear of my 2010 sports package Z.

i have noticed that now the rear has one aggressive neg camber!! it a point that after driving the car for 2 weeks i gotta get new rear tire cause inner wall feels like someone took a cheese grader to it!!

anyone else had this issue?...

Are you on stock springs?

PersianLegacy 09-16-2013 01:39 PM

yes.

Haboob 09-16-2013 01:41 PM

I have 20mm H&R's on mine and have not had any sort of issue.

I believe the camber stayed the same. I have before and after at similar (though not the same) angles and the camber is more noticeable OEM in the photos, but in person it's just as much as OEM.

Can you post pictures of the tires?

I also have 20mm spacers all around and have alignment issues, but no neg camber issues

Boomer370 09-16-2013 02:14 PM

I'm running 20mm and 30mm on mine without any issues.

I will take some pics. guess i just have to get an alignment done, but just wanted to see if i was the only one with this issue.

Haboob 09-16-2013 02:52 PM

I didn't even get an alignment done. :icon17:

I will check my tires when I get home tonight, but the spacers have been on since... February I think? And the tires themselves still look almost new at 16k mi.

I believe that you might have toe issues unrelated to the spacer. Spacers do not change your camber....

Why would camber be involved with spacers?

takjak2 09-16-2013 03:28 PM

Longer lever arm.

ok....Im really not trying to re-post issues, after 18k on my tires, i gotta get new ones cause they are completely gone..

i did some research and wasnt able to come across anything helpful, if you guys know of something that could help me, or guide me to another forum that folks have posted same issue i would truly appreciate it..

NickTurnon 09-17-2013 09:30 AM

These guys are just messing with you

18K on a set of tires for the Z isn't all THAT bad. Some people practically go thru a set on a track day.

I have a base model and put 35k on the tires when I got the car and this new set has lasted me 10k. All because my alignment is jacked up. So theres a number of things that it could be, but I am just going to go with: sportscar and you enjoy getting on it sometimes.

I recommend if you don't have the cash for tires every 20k or so, then do a little research on the longest lasting mileage tire and maybe think about purchasing 2 or 4 of those. Good luck

Depending on how you drive determines how log your tires will last (assuming they're quality of course).

I drive like a grandma, so mine look almost brand new at 16k.

17k on mine and that was kilometers. Factory camber plus soft tires equals fast wear. totally normal.
