Lol, has happened to me a couple times. Get a California Car Duster (12 or 13 bucks at Target or Wally world), love mine. It works great in situations like this and to keep it clean after a wash ;)

At least it wasn't the 'Mayhem" guy from Allstate cutting the grass.... could've been really bad. :/

What an *******, it looks like the guy saw your nice car and blow all the debris towards it.
You should move your car wash schedule to Tuesday evening so you car can go back to looking shiny next day. |
Lesson 2: Don't park on the side of the road and end up getting hit with hard water from the sprinkler system.

Actually you're better off taking it to a car wash and power wash it off instead of using the duster, because you'd be sweeping all that debris and dust across a dry paint surface which can cause tiny scratches onto the paint.

yep, one of the reasons why my G has a chip on the side of the fender is from the damn landrapers blowing dead grass and rocks AT my car. :shakes head:
i dont drive my G anymore to work. just my dd. |

leaf blowers cant tell the difference between grass, mulch, and pebbles. it will throw things at your car.
|
Once I had enough leverage to get paid by some jerk with a blower nailing my just detailed car. I got $100.
At first the landscaper did not speak English. I told my next door business neighbor* my situation and he had the worker, who had learned English in just a few days, give me the 100 bucks, and never did it again. *I graciously let his customers park in my spaces. I can rescind this at any time. |
So what's the verdict? Will a California Car Duster scratch a dry surface with grass on it? I live in a place with the same situation, and have no other option...
|
a sprint up to 100 should get most of that off hehe:tup:
|
If you have to park on the street every night, I suggest to get a good car cover (for outdoor use) and wheel lock.
|
:) I was at work.

Here, I'll just leave this link for you, I think the gurus from Adam's can explain it better than I can :tiphat: california duster? - General Detailing Discussion and Questions - Adams Forums Dusting off My Car - General Detailing Discussion and Questions - Adams Forums |

you're best bet is to drive around the block first to rid the grass or any larger than dust debris on the car before you use cal duster. |
:inoutroflpuke:

do not use the california duster! by all means!
It just takes a small particle of dirt to scratch all your car. |
I think the CA duster is for just that...dust. The Junkman shows the right way and wrong way to use a CA duster in one of his videos.
I drove home which got much of it off, leaving behind dirt collected by the rain. Then I sprayed off the rest and gave the girl a wash. |
If it doesnt put up grass on my car im good. :driving:
Good luck with this OP. :roflpuke2: |
Wash before you brush with that thing. I have one of those. At best, it's only for light, indoor overnight dust. At worst, it will make small scratches in the paint. Just spray wash the car and dry her. It's worth the extra effort.
|
I would be more worried over rock and harder dirt chips that come over the grass.
|
Just be glad it's just grass and dust. Last year a gardener at my work put a deep scratch and dented my rear fender with either his lawnmower, I ended up having to paid a $500 deductible for the shop to fix it, total costs was $750 to fix and repaint the rear quarter panel
|
In my s14 I parked on the side of the road to go inside a building. Left my windows down.
I walked back outside to see a leaf-blower toting man walking next to my car and blowing leaves, just as we made eye contact he filled my interior with leaves. He apologized - but I was still like....dude....really.... |
