For the love of god nissan. Make the 370z awd and stick the gtr motor in it or a differemt version of it. And KEEP the same sport body style. CASED CLOSED

I don't care what engine it has, or how much power it makes, or how much it weighs. Just make it considerably faster than the current Z34.
|
Okay then don't put the gtr motor in it. But male it awd. It just sucks that you have a 370z with the sexy body but power potential is not as good. Then you have a beast gtr with awesome potential but it looks like a box!! WTF!!!

No but awd is better them rwd of a dig or insane amounts of power without having to make/build a car to look like a dragster.

Adding AWD to the z would increase the cost of a car that is already selling incredibly poorly. Not to mention adding several hundred pounds of weight. That, and Nissan doesn't have an AWD system that will mate up with a manual transmission. So they can either make the Z auto only, or spend a lot of money to redesign their AWD system. Neither of those sound like a solid plan. Even of it doubles Z sales, that brings it up to 20k units a year. Not enough to justify a major drivetrain change like going to AWD. |

And I didn't even take into consideration how many models there is out there ALL with potential. ZL1, Z28, Grand Sport, Boss, 5.0, GT500 etc etc. Nissan needs more options. Not a couple variants with 15-20 horsepower changes. Sent from my SPH-L710 using Tapatalk 2 |
When you sell hundreds of thousands of units, you can make a bunch of different flavors. When you struggle to sell 10k a year, you're lucky if you get one.
I'm not sure how the Z lacks power potential. Because there's not a whole lot to be added with NA mods? That just means that Nissan did a good job optimizing the motor they gave us. They didn't leave a lot on the table for the aftermarket. Plus, if you want to talk about potential, there is the fact that the motor has handled north of 500 whp without issue. |

So, from what you're saying is you want a 5.0-7.0 liter V8 in the next Z, since that's what you're comparing the Z's power potential to? Of course they make more power NA or FI than a 3.7 liter V6. And picking up 40-50 whp with bolt ons and a tune on a V6 is not bad at all. By the way, that same 3.7 liter V6 puts out more hp/liter than the LS7.
While you may not be concerned with units sold, Nissan sure as hell is. I'd bet money that if the Z35 sells like the Z34, it will be killed. |
Ofcourse I'm not comparing them. I know these cars have a lot more displacement therefore extract more power. You keep missing my point. I simply stated that it would be nice if nissan gave us more options of power or even more models at that. But instead we have a 370z and a GTR. I KNOW some things have to get done in order for Nissan to be financially stable to embark on a new model or an extreme 370z make over. Which is why your concerned about their sells. Its a realistic argument. All I was saying was I just wished nissan had more options on power, models, etc. That's all. Just opinionated my idea just like everyone else did.

You sound like me and got the car for looks, if you want a drag racing type car "from a dig you wrote" than you should of got a gt 5.0 mustang. or evo X for the awd you're raving about.
It's an entry level sports car guy , Nissan isn't gonna give it close to gtr dedication. |
