Side mirror cracked

So someone must have hit my mirror with their mirror. All they did was crack the glass which hasn't bothered me all that much. What really bothered me was that when I took my car to get inspected today Nissan told me it would be $449 to replace the glass. That seems insane.

I'm looking at replacing the glass myself or just throwing on a cheap mirror for inspection. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance.

You should look at the Craftsquare mirrors :tiphat:

yah, or check nissanpartszone or courtesyparts if they have that piece for less.

Thanks, I'll check those out. Is a cracked side mirror really cause to fail an inspection?

kenchan 08-22-2013 10:42 AM

that i have no idea.

maybe you can get those thin modeling plastic mirror sheet you can cut to size and slap on there for the time being when you take the car in for inspection?...and peel it off after? :icon17: they probably wont even notice it. ?

What’s the part number? I know Hanlees will match or beat any price.

Make folding your mirrors a habit if parking in potential hazard spots.

:) I like the idea of slapping on a plastic mirror sheet. The guys I am dealing with at Nissan seem like dicks so they will probably give me a hard time. I have plasti-dip over my blinkers and I explained what it was and told them to just remove it. He gave me this big speech and was going to calculate a labor cost. So I have to go out there and peel it off.

I can't believe they are trying to charge 449 for the damn mirror but anyway I think the part number is 96301-1EA0A....does that sound right?

Lol at the stupid idiot trying to calculate a cost to peel the plastidip off your headlights :shakes head:

That is the correct part number for the driver side rear view mirror. Courtesy Parts Nissan lists the part for $250 online. The dealer is likely marking up the cost of the part even more and also basing their labor off a time they get out of a book. The dealer price seems typical as they always charge exorbitant prices.

HANLEES HILLTOP NISSAN

Hanlees Nissan @ $222.37 online. MSRP is $322.20.

That dealer are the ones I like to call on my spare time to just bust there balls and pick an argument over the phone. On why there dealer is slow, not making any money and in the business of ripping people off.

nice find! $222 is not bad.

Make a template & cut a mirror yourself, or a glass shop if you can't. Then glue it on. Had to do that back in high school more than once
