Almost everything gets played in my car. From rock to rap. R&b, salsa, merengue, bachata, reggae, reggaeton, nu wave alternative, punk rock classic metal. Etc... It all gets played EXCEPT country.

people's reaction to it? Not concerned.

nmjaxx9 07-14-2013 02:48 PM

BUMP it hard

People look over and drive away :rofl2:

Mark1010 07-14-2013 04:39 PM

My hearing must be shot because I can't hear a dang thing with the windows down. I have the factory system; this must change soon...

chrischhorn 07-15-2013 06:05 AM

People always do a double take on me..... Shaved head, douche beard, and on the hefty side. People always mistake me for hispanic or Philipino (I am Cambodian) and love Country music  It's always fun when I have friends in the car and the 1st preset on my car is the Country station. They know I listen to it, they just never realized its my first choice :roflpuke2:

ElVee 07-15-2013 08:40 AM

I guess I tend not to play my music loud enough to impact other people (unless they're on their phone with the window open; then it's game on). If I did, they'd just hear some techno/edm/trance (I hesitate to say I listen to dubstep, but it's present at times), classical, or chill out electronic. Nothing too amazing.

Just to say, there's nothing wrong with liking Katy Perry's music. For some reason it just absolutely works way more than it should, and sounds great. It's like hating rap, but finding some rap artists hit your taste buds just right and it makes you happy.

Fixed.

ElVee 07-15-2013 08:43 AM

I do like to stash New Kids on the Block or Backstreet Boys cds in friends' cars or through windows that are left open a crack.

"Uhh, dude, why do you have this? Is there something you want to tell me?" "It's not mine..."

It's better if you find them used cheap.

Yeah, I should have just looked that up. :) Clearly not a huge fan; I'm usually pretty behind on new music since I don't listen to the radio.

Chuck33079 07-15-2013 08:48 AM

She makes music?

I blame myself most of the time. I like to roll the windows down and jam to my music. Between trying to drown out other people's music, the noise from the road, and actively preventing people from talking to me (get ready for that thread coming up soon from me:icon17:) I keep the music just loud enough for people in the next lane to hear.

No worries though, because even though I get strange looks, they're not for very long. Country is pretty popular up here in the North. And much like people have said before, when I sing along, or jam to a song, it's a popular one:tup:

In regard to what other people think, I will take on the role of angry old cane waver for a moment:

Probably, hardly anyone really cares about the particular music anybody plays one way or the other, it's the THRUMMMMMMMMM BUMMMMMM BUZZZZZZBUMMMMMMMMM of people's overclocked bass systems that is intolerable.

Music, even terrible music, good.

Unintelligible sonic vibrations that rattle one's fillings, bad.

I don't care if its Crunk or Punk, Bluegrass or Beethoven, Dub Reggae or Dubstep, Polka accordion (fine music to drink beer to, BTW) or G.G Allin (fine music to smash beer bottles to...)-- if I feel someone else's music more than I can hear it, its kind of annoying...

ElVee 07-15-2013 02:50 PM

You feel it and hear their own car buzzing/rattling in pain.

my exhaust makes some of those noises being that it's 95% straight pipes. does that count? :ugh2:

nmjaxx9 07-15-2013 07:15 PM

Some guys dont like loud music. I listen to the music in my car. Not for you. :roflpuke2:

Its usually people who have a problem with minor things like that have problems themselves. :rofl2:

If it is in within a neighborhood or some place people might be sleeping or otherwise could reasonably expect not to be bothered by music, I turn it down. On a roadway away from homes, I don't hesitate to listen at a volume that is pleasurable despite the possibility of some (significant) sound leakage. That is, one might have to deal with my leakage on the street.

Well, to offer my 2 cents I'd have to hear it, but I'll offer this point to compare and contrast.

Ever see a honda with a black rear bumper (the rest of the car not being painted black, or perhaps being a motley of unpainted, ill fitting parts), and it is not the appearance of the car that is so bad, its the sounds it produces?

the BUURRRZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ ZZZ THBBBBBBBBBZZZZZZZBRRRRRRRRRRRPPPPPPPPPZZZZZZZZZMM MMMMM.

It's in a key that makes your ear drums bleed and forces one to wonder how much faster the noisemaker could possibly be as a result of making that ******* skulldrilling sound.

If your car is is producing sounds in that ball park... well... yeah, possibly. :icon14:

( Click to show/hide )
But we here forgive you because its a Z

Anyway, maybe 'cause I'm a car guy, I can tolerate a wide range of exhaust notes (although we all know tuning those notes turns out to be a real musical endeavor -- see further the praise heaped on the LFA for making magical noises at full tilt).

But the random shocks to the system from too much bass vibrating the offending car, the ground, and the ******* walls of buildings in the periphery. That's probably very rarely appreciated...

well i mean mine isnt a sony tuned "instrument" like a LFA (actually been next to one at cars and coffee for a mini rev off) but it's far from some universal muffler a ricer just straps on a honda lol

my sig shows my exhaust set-up

sadly though i got a weird look yesterday when i pulled up to a light playing asking alexandria. not sure if it was because of the screaming or the lyrics being....

its a 50/50 with mine since the bright blue color usually grabs a TON of attention.

Haboob 07-16-2013 01:35 PM

That song started off well, until it got to the "You **** like a whore" part. Then it was just like, "wtf is this?" and I closed it. It could have been so much better if he just sang.

he does after that part lol

that song is from their first album where he rarely sang, second album sang a bit more, and now 3rd album comes out in 2 weeks and from the preview i received it's cleaner screams and about the same amount of singing as last album.

I'm here in Houston also, but on the other end of the spectrum. No country or blue grass here, just lots of Houston Hip Hop and Dubstep. Really loud! It's like a constant party in my car.

My current favorite album in my car right now: Major Lazer, Free The Universe :happydance:
