370z Nismo Supercharged on Ebay.. Anyone know this car?

I just sold my C6 Corvette and looking at a Nismo. There is a 2011 Nismo White with a Stillen Supercharged installed and few other upgrades. The dealer claims it has 662 Horsepower. Does that sound right? Also.. What do you think its worth? It has 11,222 miles and they are asking 42,900. Finally what do you think the 0 - 60 would be? Any guess??

Thanks..

Chuck33079 07-11-2013 09:31 AM

There is no way in hell the car has 662 horsepower. None.

EagleTime 07-11-2013 09:35 AM

I was thinking more like 450 to maybe 500 HP?

NickTurnon 07-11-2013 09:36 AM

That seems like high boost if he is pushing 662hp. Is that at the wheels? Stillen only claims around 515.

Also, if you are a car guy, there are 09-10 Nismos that are arounf 25-30. Full supercharger kits are around $6k. Id say, you might be able to get a new supercharger and have it built under your supervision. That way if anything goes wrong, you have a new supercharger to put the blaim on. Not someone elses build that went wrong at 11k miles.

Also, TT G37 did a quarter mile in 11.1 seconds. Stock is 4.7 seconds. Id say a 370z with supercharger putting down 500whp, considering gt-r is AWD and does it in 3.2... Id say your around 3.8 or 4.0

Chuck33079 07-11-2013 09:37 AM

If it's a Stillen kit you're looking at 400-450whp, with a few outliers around 475 after they swap out a lot of parts. Not 500 whp. It's overpriced, and I wouldn't buy a used car with aftermarket forced induction. Ever. Do it yourself and know it was done right.

Chuck,

So your saying I should just buy a 370z and have a local pro install a supercharger? Thanks for your input

Chuck33079 07-11-2013 09:46 AM

545 whp my ***. It's either under 500whp, or has set the record for whp on a stillen kit.

Absolutely. That way you know no corners were cut in the build.

This

Also to everyone, the dealer probably is listing crank HP which is still off, 550crank is probably the most it will ever be. And if its just the stillen supercharger with no pulley swaps, ect. Than its 500 crank since that is what stillen advertises.

Get them to dyno it.

One thing I'd be worried about is if it was driven in the winter. They get a lot of snow there. Get a car fax for sure.

Chuck33079 07-11-2013 11:17 AM

Don't buy it. If you do though, insist on a leakdown and compression test, as well as sending a few ounces of oil to Blackstone Labs for an analysis.

Baer383 07-11-2013 07:19 PM

I have 625HP (at the crank) but it is a GTM SC.

Chuck33079 07-11-2013 07:32 PM

If that car put down 545 as claimed, you'd hit 600 on that dyno.

olddudesrule 07-11-2013 08:35 PM

Sold! Maybe the new owner will join up and end the mystery of "Just how much HP does it have".....

Mystery solved

I am finally purchasing my dream car after 4 years of being a broke medical resident. Also, I have spoken AT LENGTH with the previous owner who built the car and have all invoices for build which was done less than 1 year ago, as well as multiple dyno results before/during build. Car is putting down 490rwhp. Also, just want to say thank you for all the info on this forum as well as the community which I have enjoyed trolling for the last 3 years. It gave me all the info to know what questions to ask about the z34. I will be test driving car on Tues, and assuming I am satisfied filling out paperwork that day. I can't wait to let you know for sure and post pics!

Dantrag 07-11-2013 10:59 PM

Also.....

Garaged at all times, babied by previous owner, weekend driver only. Clean CarFax. Previous owner had to sell due to change in lifestyle (baby!). Super nice guy who is also giving me Nismo car cover.

theDreamer 07-12-2013 07:07 AM

A question, if you can scan the dyno graph and post it up that shows the 490whp number.

Chuck33079 07-12-2013 07:20 AM

On a moderately high reading dyno, 490 sounds perfectly reasonable, and in line with what others have made. Kinda funny the difference between what the guy who built the car says and the dealer trying to sell the car. I'd still go get a compression and leakdown test and do an oil analysis, no matter how cool the previous owner was. If I had a motor on the way out, I'd be tempted to trade it in and claim I was getting rid of it because of an incoming baby also.
