I was at VA Tech for grad school and one of the secretaries had a (new) 3000GT Twin Turbo with "PBXRL" on the plate. I couldn't make sense of it and for years I figured "paburaxil" meant something special in some strange dialect. Shortly before defending my dissertation, I was walking across the parking lot with one of the other secretaries and asked "what do you suppose paburaxil means?" She said "it ain't paburaxil, it's 'pay backs are hell.'" Turns out her ol' man had been fooling around and she took him to the cleaners (and bought a nice new red sports car following the settlement). For extra measure, she let him and the world know that pay backs really are hell.

Agreed. I checked H2O Doc in VA and it is taken. OHO Doc would be stoichiometrically correct, but might need explanation.

I saw 58008, and it took me a while to figure out that it spells "BOOBS" in your rear view mirror. That, I like; giving the finger to the Man in VA while celebrating one of god's greatest gifts to mankind.

Perhaps it's in French....

I'm about to get regular plates. Too much unwanted attention.

Plus the extra cost....

Just my opinion, but as far as vanity plates go, if you have to explain it, then it better make you happy, because no one else is gonna get it. Personally, I find it frustrating when someone goes to the trouble of having a vanity plate that no one can figure out...

Not that I don't have my own...INPRSUT......if you need a hand, I sometimes chase people at high speed..:hello:

I actually don't fully agree with this. For instance, my Eclipse has the plate "1NFOS3C." I also have a "HACK" sticker next to it (hack the planet sticker, to be clear).

If you know the industry or have some ties to IT, you can probably guess "info sec" being short for information security, which is my area.

My parents still sometimes ask what it means, and I get the question every now and then by strangers. I don't mind explaining it, and it's really just a wink and nod to those that do get it.

My Z's plates that are waiting for me are "SEC Z." Same wink and nod, but at least it now doubles as "sexy" with a Z in it.


I didn't get Sinister Z, but I probably would have if I were behind you at a light for a while. Eventually if I don't get a plate, I'll just start saying it out loud, and often that solves it.

The best vanity plate I've ever seen was on a Bentley in the parking garage of my old office building. Brand new Bentley, 40ish guy- license plate "DVRC3D". Might as well let the gold diggers know there's no Mrs. to worry about.

:iagree: Thats what I figured people would do because thats what I usually do when I don't understand a plate that I come across... and I wouldn't mind explaining it anyways, I went around and asked a couple of friends if they understood it before ordering it and most were able to figure it out.

i saw on cnn long time ago some lady in colorado (i think it was) had a plate that said she liked eating tofu. "I <3 TOFU"

well, she had some explaining to do... lol

I went with the k.i.s.s philosophy and went with "ZEE YAA"

Mine was supposed to be half of the pair... my Lincoln was supposed to have IMSLOWR but it was taken. So now I have to deal with haters and corvettes trying to race me at every light... :facepalm:

I feel even if your lincoln got the plates it wouldnt matter......how often would your lincoln be driving next to your Z?

I'm thinking about getting some vanity plates this year. Not entirely sure what I want yet.
