black on black on black

hey guys, trying to see if anyone has any opinions on this:
black z smoked out tail lights already. thinking about either going with a matte black roof or carbon fiber? i wanna keep the car clean, but wanna make it look different than your typical blacked out z.

pictures would be awesome!

I feel like a gloss black and a matte black on the same car would clash and look weird. The carbon fiber idea sounds more interesting to me.

This, and I personally think a CF roof overlay is too much cf. To me, cf is an accent, and covering the second largest flat section of the car is overkill. I've got a black car with a partially painted cf lip and cf door handles. I'll end up doing cf side skirts and a cf rear diffuser, but that's pushing it.

That's all just my opinion, and it's only worth what you paid for it. I will say that, if you do a cf roof, use real cf. Vinyl just looks like vinyl and vinyl looks cheap. And take whatever you get to a body shop and have them shoot it with a ton of clear coat. Yellow cf looks like crap.

I think flat as an accent on gloss is sexy as ****! flat black roof would look nice I think. Otherwise I would leave it completely alone. Flat black fangs? Maybe even the spats...if you have them. Flat black wheels on a gloss black car. Could also flat the mirrors. There is someone on here with photoshop skills.. you could find them and send them a picture and let them do some magic on it. Are you going to attempt the headlight mod? :-P

Check out his Magnetic Black Nismo with blacked out taillight covers. The pic is small, but I think that gloss black look is hard to beat. Tough as hell in our heat though! I've had two black Z06's, and trying to keep them clean and cool was nearly impossible!! I'm a metallic silver lover now....

edit: checked the link above after I posted it. Thought it was the pic I saw of his car with a rear quartering view and the newer taillight covers. maybe you can find it in his journal.

This might help??

Is it just me, or does that Porsche look like it got a bad wrap job on the hood? Are those wrinkles down the passenger side of the hood?

Looks like the lettering "Porsche" under the wrap.

Yup, but it was pulled back just a bit to give a view down the side of the car. I'm partial to black, and yours looks awesome. I just can't deal with it again where I live. Too much dust, dirt and heat!!

Oh, and I gotta add for the OP, illegal as hell here.....sorry. Many have them, but you run the risk of a fix-it ticket.

Yep, now I see it. Good eyes.
