Lovely car! I'm biased towards the gunmetal, but seeing as you already had one with that, may as well try some new clothes on, ya know? :)

tough choice

I think all the colors look good on a good car.. like the Z, not crazy on the "magma" red. Looks like you got the nail polish/fire engine red, can't really go wrong with that. All my prev cars and truck have been either red or black so i was shopping for a white or gunmetal nismo. Red looks awesome but is too noticable and flash so i went with the gunmetal.. looks great in the sunlight.
"terrible gas mileage"?? Think i'm av around 20mpg. Think that's bad.. my toy tacoma v6 double cab got around 16!

enjoy your new ride :driving:

I loved the gunmetal, it was really elegant and classy, but the red is fun. I was first in line at a stoplight the other day where the other traffic was coming down a hill, and every single guy that passed by turned to look at my car. Pretty cool!

I only say terrible mileage because my last car was a gas sipping Celica that got 32mpg or so just running around town...:icon17:

The Z in any color is a head-turner on the streets. But throw on the bright color and a chica in the car? Dang yeah ya look! :)

Not yet...I leased because this is my first "real" sports car (previously had a Celica and before that a Laser, both purchased and both driven for 11 years apiece) and I wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it for 10+ years for a variety of reasons (terrible gas mileage, very little cargo space, can't drive in snow without expensive snow tires, etc.). So I'm "trying it out", so to speak. I do like it so far, it's a ton of fun to drive.

Something doesn't quite sound right. How much $ are you putting down on the lease? The dealer isn't going to do something they won't make $ on. In this case they seem like they're making $ on you twice (used car sale + new lease).

Sounds like you might have already pulled the trigger but if you're still "trying it out" then why jump into another lease? Either you know by now or you don't but another lease doesn't make any sense at all.

0 down on this lease, the new lease is $100 a month cheaper than the old lease and I still had two years to go on the old one. So I saved $2400 and I guess they make money by keeping me in a Z for an extra year. Definitely less of a monthly payment than buying too. I don't mind buying a car when I can run it into the ground, but with an expensive car when it starts to have issues it costs $$$$$ to fix, and I just don't have the talent to DIY!

I did have to negotiate the payment down and I know for sure I did a bad job of negotiating and researching the first time around. For me though, it was worth it to get a new cheaper three year lease to replace the two years I had left to go. ;)

If we're talking about the new Magma Red for 2013 I agree - it's the one I just bought a couple months ago and it's killer looking. More of a burnt-orange than a red. In fact, here's a picture of it in my driveway:

Well, your response seems well articulated. Good for you and congrats on the new car. Drive safe and have fun. :tiphat:
