Never had a problem with the little mirrors. Wal-Mart used to sell them for <$2 a piece, now they don't carry it anymore and you have to get it at Autozone for like $10 a pair.

You can see it on the door that is open too

I don't have any problems while driving, but then again, my mirrors are properly adjusted! I do agree that backing out of a parking space can be a bitch, especially parked next to a SUV.

I don't even use the inside mirror. No way to see anything with the spoiler blocking the view!

The solution is very very simple.

A convex broadway mirror thats 360mm+. I bought one today, and when used with properly adjusted side mirrors. Its amazing. You have to adjust the mirrors so the view is 3/4 the rear window + 2/3 of the passenger side windows.

I can see literally everything on the passenger side. If you buy the 400mm convex mirror you should be able to see 100% of the rear window as well.

10/10 would recommend.

So whats the solution?

I just got the car and the blind spot is really bothering me. I can't drive the car like I can my old ones, I need that 100% confidence and assurance to switch lanes.

I'm so paranoid that I used to always turn my head back to physically check to make sure there are no cars in my blind spot before I make any moves. I just don't trust mirrors.

Maybe I'm old school, but even with properly adjusted mirrors on any car, I turn my head and take a quick look before changing lanes.

Do most people on here change lanes only by looking at their mirrors?

You know, the funny thing is that even when I have the added mirrors, I still take a quick glance over my shoulder. I suppose it is just a well placed habit.

I think it's a pretty fair assupmtion that we all agree that our Zs have a serious blind spot which is hazardous at best when changing lanes. I had a MazdaSpeed3 which had blind spot indicators and although it wasn't neccessary on a 4 door hatch, it was still great to have. On a Z, I would think that it would be as necessary as signal lights and brake lights. Anybody hear of the possibility of Nissan making it available on future Zs?

i just put blind spot mirrors on my car

i feel thats $3 well spent
