Mishimoto Oil Cooler

Does anyone have knowledge or experience with the Mishimoto oil cooler (MMOC-370Z-09+). It comes as a 19 row unit, with a thermostatic option. It is pricey (listed as $650). Wondering how it compares to the comparable Stillen "street" oil cooler. Any input is appreciated. Thanks!

I haven't used their oil cooler on a Z, but I've used one of their universal kits on another vehicle. It worked ok, but it was really cheap. For $650 I'd buy Stillen, GTM, etc. Mishimoto's quality control has been suspect, and an oil cooler could really ruin your day if it fails. For that price you could piece together one out of top shelf parts.

Why would anyone get a smaller oil cooler other than the biggest one made? With the exception of a few bucks more and being a little bigger it makes no sense especially if you're going FI or tracking your Z. If you need one then you need one, why get half an oil cooler?

His location says Canada, so he might be able to get away with a smaller cooler.

Not worth what they're asking for in MSRP.

Ok, thanks for the input. I'll likely go with the Stillen oil cooler based on the comments. And yes, we don't experience blistering heat here in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains, but oil temp can still rise on canyon runs in the summer months when heading uphill, especially on steep grades. Hence the reason for the 19 row unit. Again, thanks for the comments!

The only great thing about their kit is the more versatile thermostatic sandwich plate. The thermostat temp. can be changed (160, 185, or 200 degrees). link to Mishimoto site

I'm considering getting their T plate and building my own cooler with a 34 row core.

Also, the Mishimoto kit is ~$550 here. Everything is going to me more expensive on a manufacturer's site.

That price is retarded. Get Z1 or Stillen.

I'll second the Z1 oil cooler (Setrab). Quality parts, great service.
