twitchy handling

Hi all this is my first post on this forum so Hi to all. I have got a new 2013 370z after owning a 04 and 08 350z. I am thrilled to bits with the car and the finish is way above the 350. The only niggle I have is that she feels quite twitch at high speed and will tram line a fair bit. I did experience this with the 04 350 but with the 08 model all was good. I know that the W/B is shorter on the 370 and would think that the wheel alighnment is crucial but this was done from new and ive only done 3500ks. I now our roads in New Zealand are a bit ratshit but does anyone else notice this. By the way on smooth new tarmac she is fine but in NZ there aint much of it.
Regards SEEJAY

Congrats on the purchase! What exactly do you mean by "twitch?" I have taken my Z to pretty high speeds and it feels extremely stable. I also have suspension mods though. My car feels squirrelly through canyon roads, but I know it's cus I have crappy tires. Maybe the roads are making it seem twitchy like you said. GL mate

I noticed a lot of tracking with the OEM tires when I first got my Z driving straight on the local interstate highway.

This car tramlines hard when the tires are brand new. Especially with these average quality Bridgestone's. Wider tires and shorter wheelbase are definitely major contributors to increased tramlining, but i feel the car is still very controllable. It just catches you off guard in your first experiences with the car.

370Zs do that. Wide tires, short wheelbase.

Mine sometimes follows the grooves in the road if they are deep enough. Perfectly normal as wide tires have a tendency to do that.

As most have said, so so roads, the wider tires, short base, but definitely the RE50A stockers are a big part of that.

When I upgraded to the RE-11, granted I still catch grooves but now I don't make passengers nauseous lol.

ive noticed too when i first got my 370Z 4ys ago. i think i mentioned it several times. here are ways you can remedy:

1) add 15mm spacers on the rear wheel/tires to widen track.
2) run continental DW tires. they have softer sidewall.
3) or just get use to it. :icon17:
