The last 2-3 pages has been entertaining. Thank you all for shifting my priorities away from work.... :)

That is why I am here...Zero technical help, and purely here to entertain, or anger, depending on my Posts....:tiphat:

Sure.

7AT:
Step 1: Press Brake
Step 2: Move Gear Selecter to "D"
Step 3: Press Gas

Easy peasy!

Nope, wasn't me.

I probably knew the him though. :icon17:

Did he leave dust everywhere and make being outdoors unpleasant? Pretty typical of him.

I never drive my car in D. It's not that simple. Learning to shift without over-revving DRM is a task in itself. Everything else is like driving manual while negating the clutch.

You can miss a shift and lose all power in a race. You still have to be in the right gear/rpms and know when to up/downshift etc...

What you're saying is one sided.

It IS that simple. Just because you don't drive in D doesn't mean it's not there and can't be used. Also, "Missing" a shift in your automatic is quite different from "missing" the shift on an MT. The only thing that is similar to a manual from what you're describing above is timing of when you have to flick the paddle while your foot is mashed and to an extent, the powerband. Still MUCH easier than learning how to time your clutch, ACTUAL shift, and gas foot.

I'm not downing the auto, but get real it's in NO comparison as difficult to time/drive as a manual down a track.

I've misshifted in Forza before with the controller paddles (triggers more like it). :shakes head: Caused me to mess up a turn and lose the race.

I turned it off after that. Didn't want to ruin my Ferrari anymore.
