HELP- my spoiler has been replaced 4 times
Purchased my 2012- 370Z in August 2012. Spoiler seal was broken and under warranty so waited to take it in- water gets trapped under the spoiler and when the trunk is open water comes pouring out of both sides of the spoiler. My car has now been to 2 dealerships had 5 attempts to fix it with 41 days at the dealership. The hatchback has been replaced twice and the spoiler still won't stay sealed. Has anyone else had this problem? I am raising holy-hell with Nissan but am very frustrated with this experience. It must be a design flaw.

Never seen this, when you say they replaced the hatchback you mean the entire rear (the part that includes the glass)?
Also when they do this are they putting on a new rear spoiler & drilling fresh holes? |
I haven't heard of any other cars with this specific issue, certainly not enough to call it a design flaw. Have you tried another dealership?

Wow... That's a first...
You need to have Nissan pay for your monthly payment if your car had been in that long too... Shoot me a text or call me, I'll help you get paid (31O)eight nine three-42O7 |
What are the lemon laws like in your state? That's a lot of time in the shop for a new car.

My rear spoiler is not sealed properly as well. I have been to my dealership twice and they say they cannot replicate the problem. But sure enough, after a day of rain, I can hear it in the hatch again. I open the hatch and there is actually a weep hole located at the top of the hatch that it pours out of. Very annoying... The dealership told me to bring it back in when I heard the water in the hatch again. The seals of the rear hatch retain some water, but not a gallon of water...

I dont know about you but i ordered and installed the spoiler myself.. The first thing i noticed is the tape doesnt go all around the spoiler, it is actually 4 tapes (2 long and 2 short on the sides) so there will be a small gap between the tapes.
I thought about using a clear silicone to seal off the opening but i havent gotten the chance to do it yet |
I'm without a spoiler. Prefer that look. I guess I've also spared myself some potential problems.
