We wouldn't hold it against you if you'd never heard of the FSO Syrena Sport. FSO built the long-enduring Syrena for some 17 years nonstop, and while the machines were mostly plodding family sedans, engineers at FSO did create one version with a bit more zest. The Syrena Sport was a two-door coupe that borrowed design cues from Ferrari and was powered by a two-cylinder, air-cooled boxer engine. While originally intended for production, economic woes kept the machine from ever seeing the light of day.

Now, the Syrena Sport is back, though in a slightly different configuration. Entrepreneur Rafal Czubaj has resurrected the name for a special one-off creation designed by Pavlo Burkatskyy. This time around, there is no oddball boxer under the hood, however. Czubaj chose to use the underpinnings from the Nissan 370Z, complete with its 3.7-liter V6 engine. Buyers can choose between a 330-horsepower tune or a 450-hp iteration, and with a curb weight of 2,865 pounds, the car should be plenty quick. Expect acceleration to 60 miles per hour in around 4.5 seconds and a top speed of 180 mph.

Looks sharp to me.

bdavis89 04-23-2013 10:16 AM

wow, looks sweet!

theDreamer 04-23-2013 10:18 AM

450HP version engine, I assume they are adding forced induction to it then?

I think it's a twin turbo setup. What's really interesting is the weight, which is kind of close to a BRZ/FR-S.

theDreamer 04-23-2013 10:25 AM

Well depending on the price they probably are doing it with light weight material. More carbon fiber, limited technology to remove computers, etc.

kenchan 04-23-2013 10:26 AM

hummmm.... no, not for me. but thanks for sharing.

bigdog1250 04-23-2013 11:13 AM

It's a very clean design. I love it!

cheshirecat 04-23-2013 11:27 AM

Do like.

Chuck33079 04-23-2013 11:36 AM

I want to like it, but there's something I can't put my finger on that's just kinda "off". 450 hp at 2800 lbs is pretty impressive, though.

6MT 04-23-2013 11:38 AM

Is that thing sold in N. America? Just asking.

dP3NGU1N 04-23-2013 11:54 AM

That's actually rather beautiful....

I think they said it's a single car for now unless there is interest to build more.

BigT 04-23-2013 02:16 PM

Looks good. 2800lbs is fantastic.

XwChriswX 04-23-2013 02:23 PM

Looks too much like a Ferrari California which imo is fugly.

Ergo, **** no.

Every time I read your post I read it in a jackass type of tone. :tiphat:I think is your avatar. Anyways back on topic. There is something about it that I just don't like.

jcosta79 04-23-2013 02:46 PM

If the 450 HP version weighs 2,865 lbs, I will eat my hat. Plus I want to see them build one first. Anyone can draw up a concept. It's the whole building them for real part that's tricky.

It's plausable, especially since they're no longer limited to the original shape/dimensions of the 370. We don't really know how much of the original 370Z chassis remains. It does seem like a long shot though. The Z's I've seen that sort of come close to that weight are gutted track cars with all the lightweight goodies.

RoshDawg 04-23-2013 04:55 PM

Wow very unique. You can't not absolutely love those weight figures though.

DarkJak 04-23-2013 05:04 PM

Woah, I really like the design. And the weight.

Surprised the 0-60 is only 4.5 though. I hope to hear more on this car one day.

Not a fan of the looks. Love the engineering though. It just proves Nissan still has room to do alot with this car still, considering weight and power. This car should be accelerating to 60 in 4.0 seconds flat though...:ugh2:

Footloose301 04-24-2013 08:10 AM

I'd have to see one in person. Not too fond of it right now.

Good specs on it but yeah, it looks like an old 'vette or a lotus or a fake ferrari or not a Z.

critical 04-24-2013 03:42 PM

not my taste

Huck 04-24-2013 03:46 PM

450hp sounds like a Stillen SC to me lol. Not bad numbers but I'm not really feelin the body though.

That thing doesn't even exist yet, never mind being ready for international sales. Look closely at the pictures, it's just a rendering.

ElVee 04-25-2013 10:46 AM

:yum:

DriftKr6l 04-25-2013 12:12 PM

Wow! In this day and age some ppl are still making Polish jokes?

I like the design, and I'm biased cuz I grew up with original FSO Syrenas, lol what a piece of crap that was.

IMHO it looks pretty nice, but that's just a concept design.... but that weight+hp is a killer, esp if it leaves room for aftermarket improvements.
Of course this apply to the ONLY owner who will MAYBE buy it IF the car will hit production. :icon08:

TheW3r3W0lf 04-25-2013 10:07 PM

Would be fun to pull up to Nissan for service. Sometimes I am convinced they haven't even seen a Nismo before.
