House you can't bang a chick in the Z comfortably.

But seriously this should be a common sense decision.

IDZRVIT 04-23-2013 06:24 AM

Trailer in a park with a garage.

Red__Zed 04-23-2013 08:40 AM

I would tend towards house...but it depends somewhat on where you live.

cheshirecat 04-23-2013 11:29 AM

House. Pricing isn't going to get any lower than right now for the foreseeable future.

Haboob 04-23-2013 01:10 PM

Both, but house first.

Z370Z011 04-23-2013 01:14 PM

house now
2015, Z later :driving: :tiphat:

TheGreatOne 04-23-2013 01:30 PM

I would have said Z first but I am going to say house first

Right now I wish I had a home with a driveway/garage to tuck my Z in at night

I own a condo right now which is great and I have underground indoor parking, but can't have tools near by, decorate, etc so thats why I say home and hopefully within 6-12 months you can get the Z to go with it.

obito 04-23-2013 01:43 PM

or find a new job that you can afford both since you have experiences xD

Bking 04-23-2013 01:56 PM

House.

Consider the house as an investment (most likely will increase value over time). The Z will only depreciate in value over time.

Car is a luxury, a toy. House (home) is a necessity.

captain1 04-23-2013 02:24 PM

A logical answer is house.

However, you are still young. Enjoy what you love. If Z is what you want, go for it. You have plenty of time to make more money for anything else.

I made too many "logical" decisions when young which I regret now. If I were you, I'd spend $ on fun stuffs.

But yeah, house first. :)

Bay Area...Land of the over priced Homes....And yes, they have risen a lot in the last 18 months....Still below bubble prices, but still the best Investment.

House....up 110K in Value in 18 months..370Z.....surely not up in value...

Cars unless they are basic DD's are Luxuries...Homes are part of an Investment strategy...Stocks, Real estate and other assets...But Cars are mostly fo the Fun and adrenaline...

The responsible choice is the house of course. These days though, nothing is guaranteed, including the value of the house you intend to buy.

I think the better questions is where you see yourself in 10 years? If you plan to get married/already married, plan to have kids, have a stable financial standings, etc..etc.. this may be the only time you really have an option to drive a Z or any 2 seater sports car. Yes, it's going to depreciate, but it's always going to be worth something. You can always sell it when you're ready for a house or possibly buy a used Z to lessen the lost from depreciation. Whatever you decide, choose what makes you happy.

The 7AT is nice, but go with the manual..huh, wat?

Lol there was nothing on the market at that time, so I got the z instead.

Just bought my house here in Vegas in December, you will be kicking yourself if you don't jump now. Cars will be there, interest rates and prices probably will not.

So far I have seen Z owners always have good house to park their car.

i bought 2 homes and got married before i got my Z..im 37 before then i was driving POS trans ams

Vichtz 04-23-2013 08:30 PM

House now. GT-R later. Or house now and '02 Skyline later

b15 04-23-2013 10:02 PM

House first, Z later. That's what I did and don't regret it one bit. Having a garage is nice because I hate parking any of my cars outside.

What part of town? I'll be moving in to my home in September, mountain's edge.

Please OP don't follow this advice... seriously.

House first, 390z/490z/590z/690z (who gives a crap z) later. Good luck with your decision friend.

mts 04-24-2013 07:43 AM

house

DIGItonium 04-24-2013 10:05 AM

Buy a house now because the interest rates are so low. If anything, get a starter home if you don't plan on permanent residence. I chose to build one because I didn't like moving and hope to stay there well past 10 years (10 months so far in this new home).

Plan well and manage your finances (risks, debt management, job security, etc.) . I was able to plan out the turbo project while having enough for the down payment on the new house.

The only thing I probably wouldn't be able to finance in the near future is a wedding, but I'm enjoying single life and don't even care about it right now haha.

You answered your question in the first 7 words of your post. If you're like most of us Z owners, yes it is silly! I waited until I was 57 to get my first Z or any sports car for that matter. I know you don't like to hear that and hopefully you won't have to wait that long. On the other hand, if you absolutely have money to burn, then go for it. But the fact that you're even pondering the question makes me think you don't. Just keep'n it real!

I just bought a townhouse in South San Jose. It's a smaller unit but in a nice newer area. Has a 2 car garage so my cars and bikes have a home too. My mortgage on the house in Seattle held me back when looking for a house but still got something.

I spent a year looking and making offers.
