I would almost guarantee 100% you are getting scammed. STAY AWAY FROM THIS GUY. If he wants to sell the seats badly enough he will decide to sell via Paypal. Otherwise you are at a huge risk of losing a lot of money. One of the #1 rules on craigslist is you don't do deals that involve checks, bank wiring, weird money transfer methods, etc. CASH (in person) AND PAYPAL ONLY. I know you want the seats, but trust me, you don't want them bad enough to deal with a a scammer. Even if this guy is not a scammer, he has already shown that he is weird, paranoid and probably a nightmare to deal with.

Good for you on passing the deal. I know it sucks to think you're passing up a better deal, but you just have to assume it was "too good to be true". Usually it is good to trust your instincts when it comes to craiglist. It can be just as bad when you're selling items as buying, because a seller usually gets 5 spam offers to every real offer, at least in my experience. Whether or not the guy was a scammer, you can rest easy knowing you didn't have to deal with the drama.
